Small hurdles but big lessons.

Fortunately, I am one those people who haven't faced major obstacles in life. However, to begin with, one thing that has always held me back was the conservative nature of my parents. As a kid my parents were always hesitant in letting me try out new things. As concerned as they were, this always affected me as I always liked adventuring in every aspect of life. When I was in grade 4, my parents had admitted me to a boarding school in Darjeeling to carry out the rest of my schooling. The 7 years that I spent there was probably one of the worst phases of my life. I had faced a challenge in terms of everything, from food and friends to bullying and leading an anti-social life.

After  graduated from a commerce college in Patna, I had realised my interests in a management degree. I knew my parents weren't going to be open about it as they didn't want me to leave my home city. But I had decided I wasn't going to waste anymore time, hence, I had enrolled in a CAT coaching institute in Delhi without the express permission of my parents. It had taken a lot of begging and convincing and some lying to get my parents to let me go to Delhi. After some clever but harmless lies, I finally moved to Delhi. When I started the preparation for the exam, I had finally started feeling good about myself. However, there was another obstacle that was about to come my way. I had failed to perform well in the CAT exam. After all the hard work i put in, i expected much better performance and this was a setback.

Undeterred i braced myself for XAT and gave my best. It did work well for me as ultimately I could get into one of the most prestigious institutions in the country, TAPMI.

I have gone through a lot of hurdles in life , but what is important is i have emerged as a better person each time.

Challenges are opportunities to learn and failures are stepping stones.
