MBA an exciting degree which provides you with your share of respect and attitude brings a lot more along with it. Getting out of an engineering college and then thinking about Masters of business administration has always been a fascinating choice for most of the engineers and it wasn’t any different for me. Preparing through the exams and getting into a good B-School provided me with the push just required to head start  my career.

This was the first time I was leaving my home shifting to a new city and beginning to learn and experience new things. Once in college it was clear from the first day that things were different, difficult and more practical with respect to graduation. Since the beginning it was clear that the fight was tough and everyone wants to shine bright. During the orientation weeks itself everything was about Summer Internships and yes, it was then I realized that the struggle was real. Internship interviews were only three months away when we started off with the MBA journey. Different clubs and committees in college helped us to prepare better for the group discussions and interviews through in house activities. These things always ensured that we learn and always be on our toes. I always made sure to glance through the newspaper through the time constraints to be updated on what’s going on help better prepare for the group discussion.

Getting into Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. For my summer internship was a big boost for me to start of with a journey which was new, tougher and real. Getting into a company in my hometown after staying away in a different city for one year was a cherry on the cake. More than an hour-long journey from my home to the office was very different. I was nervous, had knots in my stomach and curious. Since I was a fresher, this was going to be different. But once I entered and asked my way through the reception to the HR things relaxed. People there were sweet and helpful. Later in the day I was made to meet my mentor and the projects for the assigned duration were given. One of the projects required me to meet different people understand their opinion, behavior, wants and also how a customer perceive about the company. Going through the lengths of road, talking to people, visiting different stores to observe people on their purchase behavior was all a practical experience to learn consumer behavior. On the other hand, the second project helped me understand the basics of lead generation and understanding business perspective. The two projects were a great amalgamation of learning marketing. The first-year course structure in college, the co-curricular activities, sponsorship calling helped to perform better in my internship. My mentor in company had always been a great support through the journey. He was always their in times of need, guidance and providing great insights to make and learn things the better way. The two months of this internship swept through, but will always play an important in the journey yet to come.
