The first year of MBA is mainly focused on the Internships. While pursuing PGDM in Finance from NMIMS Bangalore, I got the opportunity to intern with PwC.
I got placed in PwC in January’19. The process consisted of two rounds. The first round consisted of a personal interview which tested my technical knowledge ,overall personality, subject knowledge and competence .The second round was a HR Round where the interviewer was interested in knowing about my personal interests and also answered all my questions about internship at PwC .
To intern with a Big Four Firm had always been my dream , therefore I tried give my best in each round and convert the offer. My hard work paid off and I was extremely grateful when I got the offer letter to intern with PwC.
The internship joining date approached in no time and we were handed our roles and the departments in which we had to work on the Induction day . The company mentors were allotted to everyone and a brief introduction to the project was provided
The work culture at PwC is extremely professional. Each employee worked in a very focused and efficient manner. Getting a chance to work with such dedicated professionals was a different experience in itself. Additionally, there were many fun events organised by the company to ensure that the employees interacted and bonded well with each other.
During our internship we were assigned Buddies who were already the employees at PwC, to help us with the fulfillment of the on boarding formalities. They also helped us adjust to the office environment once we started with the internship.
The first week at PwC had a lot of introductory sessions to the organisation, the department and the team .My project was introduced to me by my mentor and I was really excited to work on it as it was a buy side acquisition deal. Through the project I got a chance to understand the entire process of acquisition of a stressed company.
My mentor guided me at each step and helped in the successful completion of my project. He took one on one sessions with me regarding how can I make the best use of this opportunity and in what other ways I can make the most of this internship. He also made me aware of what the market wants today and how I need to keep updating my skill set to be a consistent performer in my field .
Internship at PwC was an enriching experience and helped me widen my knowledge and skill set in the chosen field.
