‘Om Adityaay Namah’, this is the start of my every single morning. Just the way everything in this world is under the sun, ABG is the sun for every Indian household. It would be easier to jolt down the sectors in which they are not present, rather than the never ending list of brands and products they have under their umbrella.
The ABG story for me starts way before I was born. My grandfather toiled real hard and made it to BITS Pilani. All thanks to the quality education and training that he received there, my family has such strong values and ethics.
Then came my father’s generation, who chose Ultratech Cement, for giving shape and strength to his dream industry. It was not only his efforts and hard work, it was also the Hindalco sheets that shielded his dream, from Sun and Storm, alike!
And today, it is my time. I find ABG to be there in every aspect of my life. Be it my childhood tiffin box or the first Linen Kurta-Pyjama from Linen Club, ABG has given me memories that I truly cherish. I remember buying my first Louis Philippe business formals from Planet Fashion, and the tie that I got from Van Heusen. And the confidence that it brought, helped me land a good job. I remember the joy when I bought a Ralph Lauren Polo for my dad and a Forever 21 dress for my sister, from my first salary.
And when I see the future ahead of me, I see myself building my dream home, again with Ultratech Cement and Hindalco hardware. Because it shall last, as long as there’s a Sun above our head!
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is now what ships are built for.”- John Shedd
Life has always thrown me a googly, every over or two. The only difference from the game is, you don’t get out, you learn a lesson and not repeat the same mistake again.
During my graduation, I was the lead organizer for a Youth Parliament. I had been really passionate about it and worked hard for the event. One of the responsibilities was to handle the external Executive Committee members who were coming from all over India to chair the conference. After everything was finalized, our college management refused to provide them accommodation in the college campus and we were already constrained by our budget, so it was difficult to arrange for sudden changes. After a lot of brainstorming sessions and futile attempts, I suggested an idea that we could arrange for a stargazing camp for them at night, as the geographical location of our college was perfect for it. After some negotiation, I was able to arrange for a proper camp site package for them. When I approached the committee with this idea, they were very excited to take part in this. This innovative idea worked very well and the committee members were very appreciative of our effort to make their stay unique and interesting.
My life at XIMB, has been a challenge in itself. The rigorous curriculum, added with exciting and value adding extra curriculars have been an art to balance. The no sleep nights, followed by packed schedule for the day, is a routine affair now.
To deal with it, I have started to change my outlook towards things happening around me. My alarm clock has become my best friend, checking social media has been replaced by checking mails and movies by presentations. Every time I go to attend a lecture, I think of it as a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn.
I’m sure life has a lot of challenges to surprise me in the future, but I am confident, I’ll be on the top every time!
