I as a child was so pampered by my family that I didn’t even know what challenges are and how do people deal with it but then after growing to a certain point where parents wanted me to face everything by myself is where I started facing the world with my own face. The first and foremost challenge in my life was the moment my brother scored a 90% in his 10th grade where the whole family praised him and turned towards me asking are you capable of beating his score ? And that was the moment I wanted to do something to be known in my family and then I started preparing for my exams , I used to be awake the whole night and then finally a victory with 96.6% hit me with so much joy. But the challenge didn’t stop where the taste of victory started to tempt me to do something even bigger and that was about my 12th grade where in the first quarterly exam I was the one who topped in the whole school and teachers started encouraging me , my friends started motivating me and last but never the least parents started giving me joy by taking me out to chill , this could sound funny because who takes their child out during exams ? But then this is what my parents did , Yes they never forced me or they never wanted me to take those pressure into my mind , they wanted me to relax and burst out my stress first and then face the challenge . This is how I started facing challenges where I first throw out my stress in some means and then I start working on the task given to me and yes I scored 97.5% in my 12th standard exams .
College admissions happened and I got my admission for doing engineering in a very reputed college in Tamil Nadu and I started my journey as an engineer and the same way of handling things happened and then the journey was so smooth I didn’t face any big challenge but after three years a question of what am I doing in life or what am I going to do in my life arose within me ? I questioned myself what is my interest and in which way am I supposed to go to achieve my interest and so I analysed myself and found that I always wanted to be a leader where I make my team feel everyone is a leader and everyone has the freedom to think and decide rather than a single person takes the decision . So I wanted to be a part of Human Resource and I joined in CAT coaching centre. And then came the biggest challenge in my life not in career but in terms of dengue where it was a very critical situation . I was diagnosed with dengue on one eve and the next day things went upside down where platelets went down to 45,000 where it is supposed to be more than 1,50,000 and then I puked for like 30 times straight in a row and then at 12 in the night doctors informed my parents like if she crosses this night then it’s actually a miracle . At this situation nothing else was my sparkle but it was my mom who said you are fine and you are going to survive this . This one line from her in the emergency ward made me think that I am not supposed to die this soon without achieving anything and so I started to change my mind to positive vibes , I struggled , my body struggled and the next fine day I woke seeing a wide smile in my mom’s face and that is when I knew what surviving a challenge looks like .
The next challenge was related to HR where I was in a posting of secretary in my college’s Leo club . One night after my dinner I received a call from the incharge faculty of Leo club stating that we are supposed to organise an event tomorrow in an nearby orphanage and I was like sir how are we supposed to do this in one night and he said “I am sorry I forgot to tell you about this two days before because I was busy in a marriage function”. It was only one night which I had to arrange for food , crackers as it was an Diwali event , sweets and also volunteers from our college to help us . After all planning we were still in need of more volunteers in the morning and the thing we did was called our friends and merely asked them to jump out from college and reach the orphanage and yes the event was a great success not because everything was perfect but because everyone in the orphanage had a broader smile as a result of the event. Here the challenge was faced because of the part that was given by my fellow team mates who helped me through the night to arrange the event and yes it was my teammates who made it possible.
The following things happened was I got a good descent score in CAT to get into TAPMI and the recent challenge I am facing is getting adapted to this environment where people have work experience, people are well aware of how industries operate and top of all is that the fact I don’t know Hindi and everyone including professors here are using Hindi often so I am in the process of learning Hindi to overcome this challenge and may be learning Hindi is the only way I can overcome this. This was the short essay in simple language on how I overcame the hurdles and challenges in my life. Looking forward to more challenges where I can grow and improve myself.
