Everybody loves forest, trees and birds. Imagining about Big trees fascinates me from my childhood.
When I think about Adithya Birla Group, it appears in my mind as a huge, wide tree, which has a big truck. Adithya Birla Group rooted in Worali, Mumbai. The seed of it was planted by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857. Over the years it has grown to a level that which any other tree possibly can. The branches of this tree have strong presence in places like India, China, Canada, USA, Japan, UK and more than 120,000+ employees live with it across the globe. Back in the old days our country did not have trees like this to protect from phenomenon’s like strong economic wind, terrific erosion of jobs, Pollution of poverty, eruption of supply inflation. Big trees like this stabilize our homeland economy by its strong roots, branches and fruits.
Is not it an exciting thing about any tree with its fruits in many numbers that too with different types? Each type of fruits comes changed the life of the people. It makes the life very easy. PART - B
Coming from a conservative family, I had to face a lot of hurdles throughout my journey which has now reached at IIM Ranchi. I would like to connect myself with Aditya Birla Group as ABG also evolved through many hurdles to become one of the biggest conglomerates in India.
I belong to the beautiful 'Gods Own Country' Kerala. Even though my parents were educated and employed, they were conservative when it comes to the matters of their girl children. I being the eldest daughter, had to pave my way out of the usual customs all by myself.
After graduation, I got placed and had to go to Chennai for training for a period of six months. Being a day scholar till college, I had never stepped out of my city alone. When this opportunity came my way, it was really hard for me to convince my parents and relatives to get permission to pursue my career goals. Till that day the custom in my family was the girls will go to nearby college for their undergrads and during the course time itself, they will get married. And then for rest of their life they remain as housewives. The major challenge I faced was that I had to rewrite this custom which was not very easy. It was really very hard to get my parents convinced about going to Chennai for job, but as I was determined and had a strong desire to build my career the way I wanted, I was able to succeed in getting their permission. That was the first time I realized the old saying 'Where There Is A Will, There Is A Way'. I could convince my parents, but couldn't convince the rest of the family. Rest of the family couldn't digest this decision of my parents and blames from many sides poured on me and my parents. Before leaving to Chennai I knew very clearly that, from now on I have the responsibility for not letting my parents bow their head in front of anyone and if I could succeed in my journey then this would let the other girls in the family to go behind their dream and to achieve their dream goals. With all those responsibilities, I board my flight to Chennai. From there on, I was unstoppable. Among the 500 selected students from all over India, I could grab the first prize in training. After six months training period, I got appointed at Kochi. I started earning and became the first girl in the family to work and earn at that age. Slowly the notions of my relatives started changing. Blames started changing to praises.
As I was about to complete 2 years at my company, I decided to take another leap towards my dream career. That is when I decided to go for MBA. I could grab admission at one of the prestigious institutes for management in India, IIM Ranchi. As Ranchi is very far from my hometown, I thought I will have to get into another big war with my family once again. But surprisingly I didn't have to face much trouble this time in getting everyone's permission. Then only I realized that their notions also changed during the phase of my career journey. In fact, I could bring change to the minds of people in my entire family.
If you have the deep desire in you, and if you are ready to work towards your goal, then nothing can stop you from achieving it and everything else will eventually fall into place.
