As the saying goes, “It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change.” In this ever-changing world, where companies struggle to keep up with the pace of change, Aditya Birla Group has been doing it since 1857. Most companies which have survived this harsh environment have had their foot in only a few business segments whereas Aditya Birla Group has been able to diversify their products as per customer demand and still manage to stay afloat.  The group has its mark in major consumer segments such as Cement, Textile, Fashion, Telecom and Financial services.

Grasim cements, later rebranded as Ultratech cement is one of the prominent cement covers used for a variety of purposes, from using it as a cover during rains to using it as a plant pot, the brand has touched the lives of millions of people in India including me. The fashion brands of Aditya Birla Group such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, and Peter England have an extensive network comprising 700 exclusive franchise stores, many department chains and over 2000 premium multi-brand trade outlets, both within and outside India. With the wave of ‘Make in India’, these brands have become the go-to for clothing and lifestyle. These brands have become the sign of ‘class’, available at cheaper rates to middle and upper middle classes. I am basically from the middle class and these brands have become a part of my life, filling a major portion of my wardrobe.

The Telecom sector of Aditya Birla Group – the IDEA network, is one of the highly visible brand in the telecom sector. With their recent merger with Vodafone, they have increased their multifold. IDEA has been my family’s default network, from the induction and popularity of mobile phones.

Aditya Birla Group have associated themselves with people of different classes with varied diversity thereby connecting people all over the world, through themselves – “The One brand that unites us all”

Aditya Birla Group has taught me some valuable lessons through their approach towards problem solving. They have adapted themselves to the external changes which helped them stay afloat. I was an introvert and in job as a Purchase engineer, I was to interact with people of different ethnic and linguistic diversity. I had to adjust myself to their mindset without losing my core values to get my job done. The demanding nature of my job, made me embrace an ambivert lifestyle, balancing my introvert nature and developing my extrovert skills. I was able to perform better once I embraced this nature instead of rejecting it. The person most responsive to change will definitely succeed and this has been on of the best learning curve of my life.

I was an obese person, till my graduation and I was ridiculed my entire life. I decided to bring about a change to this and started my fitness journey. The journey was tough and I faced many hurdles on my way. I was initially blank on where to start. I searched for the right people to guide me and kept close the people who motivated me. Many a times, I was about to quit, but I had the end result in my mind and started working towards it. I was able to see results midway and this motivated me further. I was able to reduce 10 Kgs of my weight in a 6 month period. Change happens and it starts with us and my fitness journey has definitely taught me that.
