“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”

By grace of God my parents have always made sure I get what I desired .I never had to struggle till the age of 21. Anything I needed was served to me on a platter. I had never faced outright failure in my life. After 21 when my blissful  B.tech life got over, the real struggle began. I joined an IT company on 1st September,2016 . We were a group of 30 people who were to be trained for 3 months and subsequently allotted to various projects. After about 1 month of training I was given a  mid release along with 11 others for a project. We were trained there for 45 days after which we were to be allocated. Unfortunately the project passed on to another company. We were ,in a way, stranded in the middle. We had received all the adequate training but there were no projects to implement the knowledge. Even though few calls had come, they were not turning out to as fruitful. My business wait days had exceeded 100 days. There was a fear among our batch mates that we may lose our jobs. With no experience and fear of losing job I started giving various competitive exams. In competitive exams also, I was not able to make it to the merit list because of a mere 1 or sometimes even  0.25 marks. This really broke my confidence. I started doubting my ability. But my parents were really supportive and encouraging during this phase. During that low period I finally got a project. I thought all my problems were now over, however, they weren’t. My task in the project was not hectic, but  it had no future growth. It was not contributing to my profile. So I continued to give competitive exams only to be met by more failures. However my preparation for those competitive exams helped me crack CAT,XAT and make it to XIMB. This was my first sweet success after 3 bitter years. This phase taught me to never give up and have faith that sooner or later you will achieve success.

A DAY TO REMEMBER

Summers in Bhubaneswar had been pretty harsh this year, especially after cyclone ‘’FANI” as most of the trees of the city were wiped out. But the 13th of May,2019 was not just a regular day. I had been waiting for this day for long, since I was going to meet my best friend after almost 1.5 years. Though it was for a single day yet we had a long day planned .Of course, it involved shopping. But it was not just for fun , it was a necessity as we were both going to join B school and needed business formals. So I went to the Allen Solly store to buy two pair of business formals. After which, we went to the Pantaloons store to celebrate our success. We bought various shades of lipstick and we treated each other to good food at the food court on the top floor of the mall.

My best friend bought business formals from a Van Heusen store near pantaloons. The store was packed. My guess is that everyone needed formals for their B School. We were lucky to find formals within so much rush. After Shopping and hogging food we booked a cab to go home. While contacting there was network issue in my first SIM .I tried calling the driver multiple times but was not able to. So I tried to contact him using my Idea SIM and was able to contact the driver on the first try itself. On reaching home, we took a peaceful nap of two hours. After that we roamed around the city on my 2 wheeler for hours. My friend needed to leave for Rourkela by bus at 10 pm. After having dinner that my mother made, it was time to drop my friend at the bus stop. It was the most difficult part for me. But I had a surprise planned for her. I had bought her an Allen Solly handbag as an advanced birthday gift. She loved it and said “I also have a surprise for you”. It turned out that she had also bought me a birthday gift in advance . I got grey Allen Solly sneakers as  a gift . With that we bid each other good bye. It was a day truly well spent.
