The day TAPMI released its shortlist and I got selected, I booked the tickets to manipal city which wouldn’t have been possible as I was in a remote village, if not for IDEA’s extensive network I would have missed on the last few remaining tickets. The anxiety and the excitement of joining a B-School and along with that the need to buy new business formals landed me to the gates of the reliable Pantaloons with a hope of getting the best discounts (Need to think economically because of the B-School fees!) plus the pitch perfect quality fabric. While I was contemplating if I need to buy two blazers, I checked my 6-year-old Peter England Blazer, and as expected the blazer was still rich in its firmness and quality! (Cost effective and longer shelf life!) Then comes the task of buying the part and parcel of life in a B-school formal shirts and trousers, without even a single thought my vehicle somehow took me to the glass gates of Allen Solly, the brand name consistent with an everlasting comfort!  Then finally the day came when I had to leave my city, my home to chase the dream and change the gear and go in full throttle towards the aim chase. The throttle reminds me of the picturesque journey from Mumbai to Manipal, the sea, the weather the roads and yes the swift journey without any shocks to the bus (Important for a person with slipped disk) made the travel a more comfortable one- thanks to Birla Carbon! While relishing the arresting journey in no time I was standing in front of the gate of TAPMI holding my Allen Solly laptop bag with spark in eyes and a ray of hope, stepping towards a new journey!

" Our location between the Atlantic Ocean and the continent can be described as “liminal space”; a threshold between what came before and what is next or a transition that involves waiting but not knowing”.

Creating an impact means turning the curve on a program performance metric which helps not only the person but the community and the business.

Being an electrical engineer it was a hard decision to join Accenture as a software engineer responsible for the functioning and to be a part of a worldwide top performing team. Believing in myself and taking a small contributing step towards my long term goal,I joined Accenture. Sailing through the new venture and working my way up the ladder I tried to look for opportunities where I can contribute and create a positive impact. On 20th December,2017 I got a sudden sprain and I was diagnosed with slipped disk, the same week we had a planned deployment for a critical client. It being a Christmas week, most of my colleagues were on vacation and we were working in shifts to meet the timelines. The next day I had two options: either apply for a leave or go to office and handle my responsibilities, the pain didn’t stop me in taking the riskier option. The unbearable pain, the long stretch of 16hour continuous work motivated me in completing the task at hand and prove my mettle. My dedication and hard work on that day gave two outputs: 1. I got the best employee award and recognition from leadership, 2. Through the results I created an impact on the minds of both my leads and my colleagues, which showed them the importance of persistence.  The impact that I created though, not a tangible one but the one which enkindled a positive vibe.
