It was not until my under-graduation days that I realized that I had been making use of a lot of products and services of Aditya Birla Group in my everyday life. I have been a crazy lover of their fashion and retail brands - Van Heusen and Louis Philippe which are usually my sole choices when it comes to business formals and business casuals. Recently, after having thought of starting some petty investments out of my savings, I decided to invest through Mutual Funds. My father who is an active investor gave me just one piece of advice - to choose an AMC that has good corporate governance. After doing my bit of research, I ended up becoming an investor through Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund.

This story is not just restricted to me but has touched almost every Indian's life because of the group's offerings for every segment of the society - be it affordable or lavish solutions.

To understand why this has been possible for a group to become a conglomerate spread across 35 countries which was once started as a small cotton trader and how it has been successful in touching every Indian's life, it's important to understand the philosophy of the group which has been the driving force behind all its strategic decisions. The group's philosophy today has shaped across years and has disseminated from generations till today.

With Shri Basant Birla's ideology 'Paisa hai par iska matlab ye nahi ki aish karna hai' which means that the wealth has to be used for the good of the society instead of spending mindlessly, Shri Aditya Birla's attitude towards work which is evident from the statement that he once made to Mr. KM Birla-'I have never seen anyone dying of being tired' to Mr. KM Birla's professionalism which has helped the group pool in the best talent, the contemporaries and build heterogeneity at the time when the businesses usually inducted the lineage of existing employees.

Together, in my opinion, this has helped the group in building a sense of trust in the minds of its stakeholders which is the key ingredient to sustain in the business world today.
