I had a lot of aspirations; I still have. I can even write a book about it. But today I will brief you about the recent challenges that I have overcome to achieve my ambitions.
After finishing my engineering, I always aspired to do something different. But, despite such aspirations, I failed to embark upon the life of an Entrepreneur which I longed for.
I followed the traditional safer route just like herds of sheep. I got placed in one of the leading MNCs in the world. It was a 9 to 5 like everyone else is doing. I got money, but no inner satisfaction to quench my thirst. As the days went by, the more depressed I became.
One fine evening, I was going through one book which I had been gifted on my birthday- “Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” by Rashmi Bansal. That very day my perception about life changed. It gave me the push that was required for a long time. I called up four of my college friends and decided to start something on our own. But it was not an easy task as we did not have any experience in this field. Still, we moved on. Almost everyone who had heard about our plan laughed at us and advised us not to fall in this trap and continue with our corporate jobs. But failure was not an option. We persevered and overcame all the hurdles that came in our way. There were lots of instances when we even thought of giving up. At that very moment, our families came to the rescue. They instilled in us the required courage and lent their helping hand.
Finally, on the 26th of June, we opened our outlet and till now our business is running very smoothly. So, now when I look back, I can see very well how the dots got connected. I now vividly remember the advice that my mother whispered in my ears, “It’s okay to fail, my boy.”
So, the most important lesson that I have learnt in life is to have faith in one’s own abilities even when every other condition is against you.
“I don’t believe in taking the right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right.”

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life.
A few days back, I reached Bhubaneswar which is well known as the city of temples. In the next few days, I toured some places in the vicinity and then went to the famous Jagannath temple of Puri. I was accompanied by my parents. The whole travel experience was amazing. Finally, after some mind relaxing tour days, I landed at XIMB. This is the place where I hope to spend two amazing years of my life.
After having gone through all the formal orientation sessions, it was finally the time to buy some formal attires which are an integral part of MBA life. I quickly googled some nearby places to buy good clothing, narrowing down my search at a famous shopping mall nearby.
The mall had an astounding range of clothing brands; Louis Phillipe, Peter England, Allen Solly, and Grasim. The range of clothing was pretty good. I bought 2 suits and 4 formal shirts from four different brands at an affordable price. There was not an inch of compromise on quality on any of the attires. That day I decided to do some research and know a bit more about the clothing brands. One fact that caught my attention was that all were the subsidiaries of ABG. I didn’t realize that such a big player existed in the Indian market for such a long time. Quality, assurance, style, value for money everything was there in those clothes.
Another thing that struck me is that their products are not only limited to clothing. It has been a major player in financial services, telecom services, cement, non-ferrous metal business, etc. for a very long time. ABG is like a big Banyan tree with a lot of branches standing tall for around 160 years. I have used a lot of ABG’s products unknowingly. Now, my respect for this brand has grown manifolds.
I can now say with absolute certainty that ABG plays a pivotal role in my life.
