Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?

To answer this question, I have to revisit my childhood when I was going to school in half pants and a water bottle hanging around my neck. When it was recess time, I would open my tiffin box and would always find my food fresh. Yes, I am talking about Freshwrapp foils that have been a mandatory component of my tiffin box throughout my school days.

Another way ABG found its way into my life is when my house was being renovated and an additional floor was constructed. Of course, we used Ultratech Cement as it is the Engineer’s Choice. Though I was young, I do remember those cement bags laying around the house when I would come back from school.

Our family shopping has never been complete without going to Pantaloons, which has everything one can ask for. A one-stop shop where one gets great deals on everything you purchase. The variety of dresses and accessories offered is just amazing. I remember just browsing through the aisles looking for what to buy and what not to. Previously, we used to come to the Pantaloon store in Bhubaneswar from Cuttack and it was a forty-kilometer drive. But this changed and shopping was much convenient when a Pantaloon outlet opened in Cuttack a few years back. And I cannot forget to mention Planet Fashion from where I purchased all my formal attire. Brands like Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Peter England are the ones to go for when one goes formal shopping. The quality of the material and the feel of the clothing is just amazing. I don't have to look anywhere else. This is how ABG has always been a part of my life.

How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?

After completing my twelfth boards, I applied for mechanical engineering in the Indian Navy and received a call letter from the Service Selection Board (SSB). I went there and cleared the first stage, where among one hundred fifty selected candidates, thirty-four were selected which included me. Following that there were group tasks to check the physical fitness. On the last stage of a race called the snake race, we had to climb over a 10 feet wall and help other teammates in doing so. I was the second last member to climb after helping 5 other teammates getting up and over. When it was my turn I climbed and jumped but landed unevenly and could feel my left knee twist. I tried getting up but immediately fell and so did my dream of serving in the navy. I had torn my ACL ligament and ruptured my meniscus. It felt like the end of the world for me. But they say that every cloud has a silver lining. I wanted to pursue mechanical engineering and my JEE Mains score was good enough to get admission in IGIT, a reputed government college in Odisha. Thus, a life lesson which came from this incident is that we should never give up and always be prepared to face the worst. After all, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Also, prior to this incident, I had been playing sports for as long as I can remember. But, due to this injury, I had to undergo surgery, and doctors advised me not to get involved in physical activity that would strain the leg. So, I had to take a break from sports. This taught me a lesson that priorities change. One must be adaptive and flexible to move forward. I started researching about exotic birds and met with people around me who shared the same passion as mine. I created my YouTube channel “Pets 4life” to share the knowledge I have regarding pets. Thus, I came to realize first-hand that obstacles are a part of our life and we must find the thing that gets us going.
