The moment we joined MBA college we were told to start preparation for our summer internship. Eventually I started to prepare for the same. Before coming to college, I had thought of entering into finance world and so was looking for some good finance role for my summer internship. I sat for 3 companies before getting selected into the RSM Astute consultancy. RSM Astute interview was scheduled via skype so I was quite nervous and not happy with this as I believe you can not express yourself fully on telephone or video interview. Somehow it happened good for me, they asked certain question on finance like, about inflation rate, SEBI, accounting firms etc. More important, they started with the questions like why finance after B-Tech, what motivated me to enter into finance after having my engineering background. Before entering into the college, we were quite ready with these types of questions. So could handle all these in a good way. Out of 20 students given interview for this, 3 were selected and I was one of them. Our location for the same was Mumbai which was a challenge for me but you need to handle these once you are in professional world.

My internship started on 1st April 2019 at RSM Astute, Andheri, Mumbai. On the first day, I met 12 more interns over there from different colleges. It was very nice meeting all of those. Some from NMIMS Mumbai, some from Symbiosis etc. Next day we all were allocated different client location in Mumbai itself. I got YES Bank as my client. Yes, I was excited for Yes Bank but it was 20 km from my stay. Somehow, I managed to settle in Mumbai, especially local train was a big struggle for me which eventually made my life easier in Mumbai. I was tagged in a concurrent audit team, there were 9 members in my team. One of the members from the team made me understand the functionality of the work. And on the same day I started with my work assigned. Team members were very co-operative, helped me a lot at every point of time. The company guide assigned to me was at head office so could not have much interaction with him but he used to take update from the team. Whenever in need, he helped me at every point. I got good exposure as I got two more client location as Edelweiss and Indostar. I got opportunity to meet so many people from different team. Never expected but got good friends there which we enjoy till date. I learnt different thing apart from my project as well with the help of other team members. On technical side, learnt very different thing in accounting firms. I came to learn about types of audit, company laws, KYC, AML policy which has been implemented by RBI. Also, came to learn about trade finance.

Mentor/HR/Team members:

We also had good interaction with our HR. I would appreciate my HR, mentor and team members for their help and support not only professionally but personally. Unfortunately, I met with the accident in which I got leg injury and doctor advised me to take complete rest as my leg was plastered for 20 days.  In those tough days also, I got full support from my mentor. Purposely they used to send me to near by office so that Its easy for me. And in this way, I completed my internship period of 2 months in Mumbai. And overall experience was quite good.
