PART A:

Ever since our childhood we are  conditioned to focus more on our negatives and we consistently spend  greater effort on improving our weaknesses, while our strengths are  often ignored. What we forget though, is the fact that achieving success  is more than just overcoming our weaknesses.

Before I write about  how Aditya Birla Group influenced my life, I must confess, I never  asked my contractor what brand of cement he used while building my home.  I was never very brand conscious and Forever 21 already seemed like  something I'd buy when I had my dream body. The reason I truly relate to  Aditya Birla Group has more to do with its philosophy than its  subsidiary brands.

During the period of economic liberalization,  while several Indian companies lost the liberties they once enjoyed and  entire industries were overturned with the advent of bigger and  seemingly better foreign organizations, Aditya Birla Group remained  strong as ever. I remember reading about the secret to their success -  they focused on their strengths. This is a motto that I have lived by  all my life.

As is the case with any person who is confident about  their beliefs and has faith in their value system, I have had my fair share of times when I have doubted my life motto. However, watching a  multinational conglomerate with subsidiaries across various sectors  stand testament to my beliefs, helps address my innermost fears and  reinforce the fact that the secret to success is not in what we are lacking but in making the most of what we already have.
