Growing up in a middle-class family in India has always got its perks as well as its cons. Parents push you to be ambitious when it comes to studies while to be conservative when it comes to thinking out of the box. I was also brought up in such an environment where studies and high marks always came first while ambitions of being an entrepreneur always took a back seat. But, we cannot blame our parents for this, since they were brought up in a socio-economic and cultural scenario which are worlds apart from what our generation can think or understand.

My ambition has always been to be an entrepreneur who can stand firmly on his two legs and face the hardships that come my way. After completing my graduation studies as a mechanical engineer, I was placed in one of the esteemed software companies as a junior software programmer. It took me a lot of courage to face my family as well as the society while I chose not to join because my interests were elsewhere. With God’s grace and lot of hard work, an offer came up from Dubai for the post of Project Engineer. I was jumping in joy but my joy was short lived once I joined the firm. The work culture was way different from what I had expected and the age difference between my senior employees were almost twice of mine. Being from a South Indian State, I wasn’t well versed in Hindi while my sub-ordinates were mostly Hindi speaking. The teething problem occurred and even the projects in which I was assigned to had similar problems. The thing that kept going the words which I had always told myself “ This too shall pass & later, these experiences will be something you simply laugh at”.

After my 3 years of stint abroad, here I am pursuing my dream of doing an MBA for creating more prospects in my Entrepreneurial Adventures.
