I came across a post on Linkedln and so I thought sharing this would help aspirants who are preparing for CAT.
A guy who got 98.93%ile in CAT 2019 and got calls from the majority of the top mba college but did not convert any. He is a general candidate who has done Business Administration and Management in his undergraduate and has an average of 8.82 till date. All I want to say is that his profile seems to be ok or let's say above average.

So what went wrong?
You may say he may have done blunders in a few interviews or in all we don't know.
Still, what does this tell you?
It tells you that even if you have a high score in CAT it may end up so that you not being selected for any college. I am not being pessimistic here. All I want is to tell you is the reality so that you are better prepared.
See there is a battle beyond the CAT exam waiting for you as well. It is not that you have given CAT and college is assured to you. As hard is to prepare and ace CAT it is equally or I would say more important than CAT to ace GD-WAT-PI. And that's why I have added links of final composite scores of some colleges so that it will give you an idea that in some college GD-WAT-PI has more weightage than the CAT exam itself. There are some colleges which are an exception to this but the majority follow this trend. Let's keep the profiles and academics at the side for now. They add furthermore to your chances of selection.
So until and unless you have the final offer letter in your hand or mail, do not be complacent. Prepare equally well for GD-WAT-PI. If you read five articles daily, try and summarise one or two in an A4 sheet. If you find difficulty in speaking, stand in front of the mirror, and speak or better record your video in front of a camera and speak once in a day or week during your prep time. Do this until you don't find yourself hesitating while speaking. Take those questions which may be asked in your interviews. Get your answers reviewed for frequently asked questions by your seniors or any other management professional. He may be in your current company if you are working.
Now doing this doesn't mean leaving your study behind. Don't try and jump the queue. CAT exam is a gateway. Until you crack that open, these weightages will not matter.
Also, those who are weak or consider themselves weak in communication or interviewing area, they should realize this void and start early from their peers. May be included in their daily habits little by little. And you will be good to go before CAT.
The idea is not to get depressed by seeing this but to realize and work on it.
For any other help, I will be always there for all of you. You can contact me. I will be more than happy to help you all.
