Our ability to handle life's challenges is a measure of our character. Life choices can also be challenging because some of them may be so hard that one wrong decision can put our entire future in jeopardy.
Entering into the fourth year of my engineering, I faced a dilemma of whether to prepare for placements or go for an MBA straight after my graduation. I chose the tougher road, focussing on cracking CAT while simultaneously appearing in placement interviews. I prepared hard for job interviews, cracking aptitude rounds and breezing through Group discussions, but it was the final interviews which became my Achilles heel. Getting rejected in final interview rounds for 5 straight companies was something I never imagined and when things start to go wrong, you start doubting your abilities. The pain of rejections translated itself into poor MBA entrance performances and added to further agony.
I was nearing the end of my graduation with uncertainty about my future looming over my head. I had to make another tough choice, whether to look out for off-campus opportunities or give CAT one last try. I decided to devote my entire time to MBA preparations so that I don't regret that I didn't give myself a second chance. I left no stone unturned in my preparations. This time the performance improved and I managed to get a decent number of calls. Without wasting time, I started preparing for the interviews. I had realized where I went wrong during my job interviews and I started working specifically on those aspects so that this time I don't give anyone a chance to reject me. Many results went my way and there were many which left me disappointed. But then I converted the call that mattered-XIMB.
Looking back, I feel patience and perseverance help me get through the tough times and now that I have achieved my goal, the satisfaction of seeing the tough decisions go right can't be explained in words. Things don't always work for you, you have to make them work sometimes. And I believe these learnings have certainly helped me face one of the biggest challenges of my life.
Why is ABG big in my life

I remember taking my tiffin box to school with Veggies and Rotis packed in "Freshwrap" and it brings back all the memories I made with my classmates sharing food and having fun with them. Another thing we used to do was after we finished our food, we used to collect all our "Freshwrap" foils, tape them together like a ball and then in the playground, we used to play our version of "Pithu".
I come from Ludhiana, which is famously known as the "Manchester of India". The city is known for its cotton-T shirts and other hosiery products. I am a big fan of polo Tees and Jeans combo but the local brands in Ludhiana don't provide the best as far as polo T-shirts are concerned. Either the design is not to your liking or the quality of the product is not that great. That's when I came across Van Heusen and Louis Phillipe's collection of Polo T-shirts. Their T-shirts provide a premium feel at such an affordable price that it's difficult to resist the temptation of owning them. Now, Business formals are a must when you are in a B-School. And when I wear my dark blue Van Heusen suit, it makes me feel professional and adds confidence to my personality.
Hence, I can proudly say that in satisfying my needs as well as adding fun to my life, Aditya Birla group has played a huge role.
