The Upper Crest- TAPMI

This may well be an extremely cliched story about how a brand has an impact on a person. Nevertheless, I would like my first article to be an anecdote which involved a certain Mr. Phillipe, Louis Philippe to be clear. So here it goes.

I returned appalled from the experience I had at the PI round of the CAP process. I hadn’t done remotely close to my expectations. Flashback 6 hours where I was questioned by my uncle about my choice of shirt. It was an old loose fitting shirt which was pretty uncomfortable under the blazer. I did not tank the interview because of this, obviously!

A week later, I was on my bike riding back home wearing a really classy-Louis Phillipe shirt and a smile after my interview for TAPMI. I did pretty well.

I am not saying that I derived my confidence and demeanor from that shirt but it sure did have a part to play on that day. After that day, I believed that it is not only important to trust yourself with your preparation, it is also important to look like the part you want to get. That shirt now commands a lot of respect in my wardrobe today. It is quite literally “The Upper Crest” among the shirts I own for this reason primarily.

The effort to revisit everything that was wrong about the first interview and correcting it is probably the reason why I am typing this from my hostel room in TAPMI.
