Tips to crack internship and My internship experience

As the companies for summer internship placements the first question that was there was how do I prepare for the selection process. Immediately I went to seniors who had already done their internships to understand how to prepare for the summer internship selection process. The first tip that they told me was to study about the company its business model and the culture of the company. Secondly they told me to be through with the basics concepts of the domain that you want to specialize. They also told me to have the knowledge of cross functional departments as the business problem can only be solved if I have the knowledge of all the departments. After doing my preparation I attended the interviews and I saw that all tips that the seniors had given actually worked. The first day of the internship was great as we met all the senior officials of the company. They interacted with us and gave us a lot of inspiration and guided us about how we should approach our internships. As I started working I could see a lot of practical applications of what we had studied first year. All the concepts, frameworks, models that I had studied in the first year in various domains were very helpful. teamwork is something that I learnt while working in the internship. I had to interact with my peers at the company as well as senior employees from various domains. Networking was a key thing that I learnt in terms of talking to various people and understanding their experiences. Especially while working in a team it was very important to understand all the team members of what they can bring to the table and how can I contribute to the team goals. It was very important to understand the vision of other team members and work accordingly so that we all are on the same page. Regular help from senior team members in terms of understanding the various aspects of the project and a real time understanding of how to execute the project real time. There were group activities that were conducted which were aimed to build a bond within the team. The sincerity and the hard work that each and every team member showed, made me to work harder. It also taught me to how to prioritize my work and classify which work is urgent and important. Based on this I could schedule my work accordingly and this way I could manage more things in stipulated period of time. I learnt the art of doing exactly what is required at what point of time. During my internship the joy of doing something and then seeing it get implemented was such an amazing experience. The hands on experience while working during internship has given a real sense of belief and confidence to execute what is taught in classes in MBA. It was an amazing experience to work and learn a lot of things which will have a great role in helping me have a great career ahead.
