As a kid, I always remembered going to our ceramics pottery. I would play with the clay, which was used as a raw material, and talk to the people who worked there. This used to be an enriching experience because of the colourful and artistic world it created for me. Little did I know, that it would soon come crashing down in July 2001.
My father suffered a loss big enough that the factory had to be sold off. It was saddening not only because it was a monetary loss but also because all the people who worked there became unemployed. These people were the ones with whom we had the longest associations and it was difficult to bid them a farewell.
Nevertheless, the commendable determination that my father has led him to start another business in 2008. The man in his early 50s starts to work hard so that I, like my sister, can be given an access to quality education at Delhi Public School, Bulandshahr. This is something that I would alwyas be grateful for. But there are times when things just don't seem to go right and in 2016 again, he suffers a financial loss which shook everyone in the family. I, then an undergraduate, was called back home while my mother started teaching and I started taking tuitions while taking care of my grandparents. As soon as things start to normalise, I started working and preparing for MBA.
Now I am here at TAPMI, pursuing MBA and willing to learn the nuances of business and help my father act on the red flags in time that are sure to come in the course of running the business.
