Though I had been consistently working towards my goal since many years, the past two years were really about MBA and MBA alone. Every step I took was measured to ensure that it helped me get closer to my dream of joining a good business school.
I had everything planned, or so I thought. The first setback came about when I was diagnosed with Dengue before my 12th Board exams. I rightly guessed that I wouldn't be able to perform to my best in the Boards. I was deeply pained by the turn of events as I knew I had to have good academics to secure admission to a good B-school. Destiny played its part furitively, but I knew I had to buckle up.
After a few years, I attended the selection processes of various business schools. Nevertheless, I couldn't convert any of the calls I had. It was tough as I had changed jobs and shifted cities to aid my preparation. Things only got tougher from then till I sat down to understand the chaos that my life had become. I realized that I was working hard, but without a strategy. I was putting in 100%, but not by drawing lessons from my past mistakes.
I resolved to be mentally strong, no matter what happened. As I always knew it would not be an easy journey, I may as well put in my best efforts. My efforts and optimism paid returns big time as I not only secured admission in colleges in India, but also in the United Kingdom.
Like they say, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. I realised my journey to TAPMI has been one of self-discovery. It has changed me as a better person. Challenges add the much needed zing in our lives, and the thrill that we get after crossing the hurdles is unparalleled. I am looking forward to the two years of learning that lies ahead of me at TAPMI.
