Is this ambiguity and stress after giving every interview normal? Does it only happen to me that I think I am not going to get selected for this one? My interview was so short; they definitely didn’t like me. My interview went for 15 minutes but they didn’t look convinced. I am definitely not going to get into the B-school. Well, these are the similar thoughts of mostly all the candidates who come out of the interview room and start thinking that they killed the only chance they had. You have your best call at IIM A or B or C or L and you just want one thing that I want to crack this one but the interview goes so uncertain that you are clueless about what exactly happened to me and now, it all depends upon the result.
Let me tell you one thing, every MBA student has once felt this. So, this is completely normal. The process is uncertain but you cannot judge on the basis of the length of the interview, expressions, kind of conversations. It differs from person to person, from college to college. We all know how we all have worked for an entire year dreaming about going to that dream B-school and in the end, it drills down to one good interview, those 5-15 minutes of your life.
Believe me you, even I felt the same. And so did, other students at IIM Lucknow. I interviewed 4 students of IIM L – Aditya Jian, Kiran Kumar TB, Deepak Jain and Ajir Bihari, having different backgrounds, different work experience and different past histories and all just said, one thing, it felt so uncertain.
So, what did they do?
First thing, not stress out or burn yourself because whatever was to be done has been done. And now, it is not in your hands. So, all you can do is keep calm and think about what next thing you can do. Read new books, try to increase your reading speed, yeah when you are reading 16-20 pages case in an hour, you need good speed in MBA, learn a new skill, try a new course, build your profile, and most importantly, don’t involve yourself in negative emotions now. You tried your best and now, whatever is best will come to you.
All the best!
