Hi! It’s the #onelastmonth and I know how anxious you must be feeling. I have been there last year and while everything was normal, there was still so much stress and with COVID and new patterns etc this time, I can completely understand if you’re feeling overwhelmed or worried about your CAT exam.
So here are a few tips to help you in this last month of CAT – 2020:
- Don’t learn anything new:
Well, it’s contrary to what I usually say, but it’s the last month and the last thing you’d want is to ruin your preparation so far. So, it’s better not to learn any new concepts or tricks or methods. - Revise your concepts well:
Instead of trying to acquire more knowledge on your plate, it’s better to digest the existing one. In simple words, use your last month before CAT 2020 to revise all the concepts well. Be thorough with whatever you have learnt so far, whether that’s about your coaching notes, or any material or any notes that you might have made after analyzing the mock tests or anything else that you’ve prepared so far. Just focus on the important stuff. - Increase the frequency of your mock tests:
If you were giving just 2 mock tests per week, increase the frequency to 3 or maybe 4. Another important thing to note is for you to give the mock tests in your time slot only. It will help you in simulating the actual exam and reduce your stress to a great extent. - Analyze your mock tests well:
I can’t stress this enough. Whether it is your first mock or the mock tests in the last month, analysis always gives you a better knowledge about your preparation. - Rest well:
There’s already too much pressure and you won’t want to add to it by falling sick, right? So take regular breaks and keep your mind and body healthy.

Finally, there are a lot of questions around whether you should attempt a mock test on the last day before your exam or not. Even though people usually recommend not giving, I attempted one, and it went well which boosted my confidence level. Even if the last mock test doesn’t go well, trust your preparation. After all, your performance on stage will matter the most.

I can’t say this is an exhaustive list but these are a few things that helped me in the last month. I hope they help you too. Please remember, no matter what happens on the final day, just remember one thing: Give your Best and Leave the Rest. The end result is not in our control.
Before concluding, there are a few more suggestions from my end: No matter how your exam goes, “celebrate” after it is over – whether it’s a cup of coffee with your favourite book, dancing hard or just go to sleep for a good amount of time. You deserve to chill after your exam is over.

All the Best!
