PART A: Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
The Aditya Birla Group logo itself signifies ever-growing ambitions and the visionary change it looks forward to bring to this world which it successfully encompasses throughout all its businesses. The transformation and growth since the start of Aditya Birla Group is a story to share with everyone. From $2 billion to over $40 billion in around 50 years and spreading across countries is no mean feat. And the diversity in sectors also shows a remarkable mindset which is very inspiring for would be managers like me.
Since my childhood I have observed my father using a collection of Peter England shirts which always felt premium. Following him from my childhood in all situations I faced helped me grow as the man I am today. In my teen years, I demanded for a mobile phone, which my father happily provided. Idea was the network provider which helped me connect to my friends. It really helps to “Walk when you talk”. And I can’t even count how much research I have done using Idea Internet Network, or as I and many people like to call it “IIN”. I am forever indebted for that. Also, I would go for shopping in Pantaloons outlets and pamper myself with new clothes time and again. The variety and quality, not to mention the return policy of all the products in Pantaloons always pulled me back.
Encounters with ABG have been a lot in my life when I look back, but the biggest one, which currently still provides me a sense of protection is with UltraTech cement. Few years back, our family shifted to a new building where we settled in the 4th floor. The building foundation and structure were made using UltraTech cement. It really feels safe when you know that it is the “Engineer’s choice”. West Bengal have felt quite a few earthquake tremors in the past few years, and I am proud to say that our decision to trust UltraTech cement has been great.
Such huge impact in someone's life can only be done by great determination and a will to succeed. But that's how routine looks like for successful organisations.

PART B: How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life?
We all face failures in our lives at some point of time. It all depends on how we choose to face them and overcome them that defines us as individuals. Even I have had failures in my life. This is when I started my engineering. I used to be a bright student, but that new environment for the first time in my life distracted me and even though I made a lot of friends, but my academic performances took a huge blow due to my negligence. In my 3rd year of engineering I had a deep introspection about what I am doing with my life and how to turn things around. After lagging behind for 2 long and hard years, I was finally determined to do well in everything I face.
And it did happen. My grades took a huge jump in my 3rd year and I got involved in many extracurricular and committee activities which helped me grow as a person. By my 4th year I had earned everyone’s respect as well. I was confident in my ways of doing things and it showed. I got placed in one of the reputed companies in India. I was determined to make something great out of this life of mine. I joined my workplace and learnt how an organisation works, but I always had that will to learn more and more. I took interest in leading a team, which helped me learn the perspective of my managers as well. This pushed me towards pursuing my masters in management.
I joined IMT Ghaziabad for my PGDM and another growth phase of my journey in this world. My journey is still in progress and still a long way to go, but I am on my path and I am sure I will definitely reach there. It is all in our mind. We are all talented and can perform. We just need to have the will to act and train our mind to execute without fear.
