Yes, when you start dreaming something big or different, with your eyes open obviously, you have pushed your limits and set your goals high. This is what happened to me when I have decided to go for MBA.

Choosing a career with serious ambitious is easy, atleast I feel it is, But when you are from a conservative background where there is barely any girl with proper education or I may say with no importance to her career goals or objectives it's is even more harder to get an opportunity to pursue your dreams.

I'm lucky enough to have a father who understands the need of education for a girl but little did he knew that the education and some simple government job in my husband's location (with approvals) doesn't make me an independent women.

So, at first during the college days I had to convince my parents that marrying during graduation would end my career and my liberty to even understand my career aspirations and again restricting my options.

Then comes the current eligible age for marriage in india: after completing your graduation. I had to convince my family and close relatives to allow me join one of the 3 job opportunities I got, against my family acceptance as they felt that there no need for a girl to earn money.

Now, after about one year into the job I have decided to attempt CAT and join MBA. You can imagine what could be the situation. This time there was lot of drama and quick recaps happening w.r.t allowing me for educations, job and my age 23(~30) years. MBA meant delaying my marriage for another 2 years atleast.

When I say all these things, I never meant my parents didn't love me nor that they didn't understand me. They wanted me to achieve everything under the sun only when I get married and get support from my in-laws. In a sense it's a good way to handle life and career simultaneously, but I just didn't wanted to go for trial and error method when it's about my Life.

I made my thoughts and goals clear each time about my studies, necessity to get a job for enough exposure so that I can relate different things I have learnt since childhood and also the implications when I get married during these crucial stages of my life.

All it takes is YOU and your clarity of thoughts to achieve your targets.

Yes, this would not have happened not even 1% if I'm not firm on my decisions and also if my parents are not trying to understand my views. They encouraged me believing in my abilities.

Now things/perceptions are getting better in my family/relatives with each decision I took.

I feel one must start the change for something to change, even a small step goes a long way.

Keep Smiling 😊
