The first site I visited as an Architect was an ongoing store interior project in an upscale mall in Mumbai. As I timidly stepped onto the site, I saw the masons hard at work laying the beautiful full bodied grey tiles for the flooring. The unmistakable yellow bags of the UltraTech cement were lying in a corner, with smaller volcano-shaped mounds of cement, and a few trowels were on the side to mix them thoroughly. In the next 2 days, the walls were painted, the fixtures were attached. The site was slowly turned into a boutique. The clothes on the mannequins and on the display racks brought the store to life. The fabric was vibrant, breathable and the unmistakable pink tag of Liva sparkled under the lights. As the first customers walked in then, I felt a high never experienced before. But looking back, I see other details- one brand that is a support mechanism to another brand- in the limelight but also is the base for others brands to express themselves. These two diverse looking brands belong to the house of the Aditya Birla Group. But they are the same in essence-they support and help you be the best version of you. This is an important life lesson – for us to be good and do good for our friends and family, which will in turn raise us up. We can scale mountains and swim across stormy oceans and achieve more than we thought possible, when we stand by each other.
