Heritage, Grandiose and Versatility – these are the three words that come to my mind whenever I think about Aditya Birla Group (ABG) or watch an advertisement of any of its brands. From the company roots stretching as far back into the history as 1857 to it becoming a global presence in 1969 much before the term ‘liberalization’ was yet to be coined – The Aditya Birla Group is a living definition of rich Corporate Heritage that will be unmatched for many generations to come.

At market valuation of US $44.3 bn and being consistently rated amongst top-most corporates in Fortune 500 group of companies, ABG has lived up to its own standards time and again and has also expanded the horizons of the same repeatedly over several decades. With 38 companies in its arsenal that employ workforce of over 120,000 employees belonging to 42 nationalities– ABG is the living embodiment of Corporate Grandiose. Very few corporates at a

global level have such a diversified presence. Being rated as the ‘#1 corporate’ for three consecutive years by Nielsen’s Corporate Image Monitor only substantiates this fact.

Adding to this, with its presence in consumer products and services ranging from Fashion & Retail to Metal industry, from Telecommunications behemoth to Cement giant – ABG defines “versatility” like no one else. You can literally see the brands of ABG all around you whether you are sitting in comfort of your homes or travelling across the country. ABG is versatile and it does that in style as well. Globally rated 1st in Aluminum Rolling, 1st in viscose staple fiber, 1st in carbon black, 2nd in telecom, 3rd in cement, 1st in fashion and lifestyle – it is apt to put Aditya Birla Group as synonymous with Corporate Versatility.

On a personal level, I have always acknowledged the presence of ABG everywhere around me all throughout my life. Be it walking into a showroom and strolling through Van Heusen, Louis Phillippe, Allen Solly or Peter England merchandise or talking to my loved ones for hours on an Idea Network; or carrying my lunch wrapped in Freshwrapp Aluminum foil to watching my office shop-floor roofed with Hindalco Aluminum sheets and also watching the infrastructure of my country being powered by Ultratech Cement – the presence that ABG exudes in all our lives for that matter is unmatched to the level of it being omnipresent. ABG has been simplifying, adding luxury and transforming our lives so silently yet so effectively over all these years – and for that I am grateful.

Beyond all this, ABG reaches out annually to 7.5 million people through its Community and Rural Development initiatives, is active in 5000 villages globally and is also the driving force behind NGOs like ‘Akshaya Patra’ that provide mid-day meals to 74000 children thus enabling their health education and future. Taking into purview all the above facts, I am of the opinion that ABG is massive in not only mine but all the Indians’ lives hence it is perfect to call it “Harbinger of Transformation” not only in Indian but global context as well.
