I am from IIM Indore and what makes my campus unique is its sheer breathtaking beauty. I have been on this campus for 4 years as a student of the 5-year Integrated Programme in Management. The Integrated Programme was started in 2011 and comprises a BA (Foundations of Management) and an MBA.
A lot of people would know IIM Indore for its scenic beauty and lush green surroundings. However, that is not all I mean when I talk about the beauty of my campus. The beauty of my campus lies in all the lessons I have learnt over these years. It lies in the importance of the individual and the freedom to make radical choices. It lies in the critical thinking promoted by the Institute at every level. These factors make my campus unique.
Several memories stand out in my mind as I think about a remarkable classroom experience. I particularly recall my first mathematics class. We were studying differentiation and having passed class 12th with flying colours I was expecting no trouble with Maths. However, when we started, the class was so different from the formulaic maths I had studied before. It was difficult to think in mathematical terms but it taught me to work hard and changed my perspective.
I have a batch of 500+ classmates so I could go on and on about all of the interesting personalities I have met. However, I think I will introduce two people I respect a lot. Incidentally they both share the same name. One of them is a debater and the other is a quizzer. I respect these people a lot because of the sheer breadth of their knowledge.
I think I would like to work in Aditya Birla Retail because I really appreciate how it brought the supermarket model to the masses. In some sense, it has democratised retail. People are no longer beholden to the whims and fancies of their local retailers and can vote with their feet
