India can be the home of thought leaders across disciplines. We have some impressive role models – Professor J. Ramachandran from IIM Bangalore whom I wrote about two weeks ago, and people like Anil Gupta, Ramachandra Guha, Raghunath Mashelkar, A. Paulraj and Manindra Agarwal whom I wrote about last week.
So, India has a new PM. A new hope. As the markets celebrate a some kind of a Pre-Diwali I decided to have a browse with what Drishtee Capital the very own student run investment fund of VGSoM IIT Kharagpur thinks about the challenges to be faced by the new government, the country in its new term after election and most importantly the most liked man of the hour –Narendra Modi !!.

This year I had multiple opportunities to speak to doctoral students and faculty at some of our leading institutions. IIM Rohtak had organized an internal Faculty Development Workshop; IIM Ahmedabad invited me to speak to their new cohort of doctoral students; and we had our own Faculty Development Programme (see picture below) as well as the Conference for Excellence in Research & Education (CERE) at IIM Indore.
In the middle of all the anti-Section 377 videos released, possibly the one that best summarizes Indian attitudes and perceptions towards same-sex love or attraction is ‘Coming Out Of The Kitchen Closet’, the recent sketch published by The Viral Fever on YouTube.
