Mumbai being the financial capital of India and JBIMS located in the heart of the city is what the USP of the college. Its close proximity to several business headquarters serves as an added advantage. The B-school gives a wonderful opportunity to the students to connect with people from the industry. Founded in 1965, JBIMS is one of the oldest management institutions in India. Over the years, JBIMS has given promising leaders to the industry who have become the industry stalwarts because of which JBIMS is also called as the ‘CEO Factory’.
Delhi, the city of flyers and the place for foodies! The day I stepped here, it was like I have walked into the desert of Sahara. As I am from Mumbai, I haven’t seen days as hot as Delhi summer days. My IIFT journey started from the airport. While I was moving towards IIFT, I heard a number of stories from the Uber driver as he had worked some years back at IIFT. The story which stuck in my mind was that of “A Typical Day at IIFT”. After hearing that story, I was eager to experience that “Typical Day”. The day finally arrived and it was the Second of July. Like the story from the Uber driver, my day started at 6 in the morning. I was allotted a room at the C9 hostel which is outside the campus, around 800 meters from the college. First task of the day was to get ready as soon as possible because everyone knows what happens at a boy’s hostel when they have to share their restrooms. The second and the biggest challenge for me was to have breakfast from the #MESS. I am very particular about what I eat, in addition to that, it was my first time experience of mess food.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research. It has come a long way since then and has been able to be amongst the top b-schools in the country.
They say that a good business school has an extensive and rigorous curriculum in order to transform budding managers into able leaders who will shape the world environment in the future. However “they” never realise what the term “rigorous” really entails. Only a student going through the rigours of a business school will understand and empathise. This was pretty much the predicament of all the students from the batch of 2018-20. However, in the midst of an exhaustive first week at IIFT-Delhi, our seniors created two episodes that will make the memories of the same last a lifetime!
“Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.”
