When you have a plethora of options, it is an operose task to choose few, when this topic came in front of me, a flurry of names flashed through my mind, my flat-mates, class-mates and who not, undoubtedly it was a tough job to shortlist 4-5 out of those. Here are profiles of a few of them:
Uday Hingankar: Uday is a Mechanical engineer with one year of experience in the manufacturing industry. Being a PGP student of IIM Rohtak batch 2017-19, he is excited for his journey at IIM. A keen learner who likes to take initiatives, his job assigned him with the responsibility of making standard operating procedures for various manufacturing processes in the first two months of my probation period. He interned at H&R Block in the field of Marketing. He is a FLIP certified Professional in 'Finance and Banking Fundamentals’ and Six Sigma Green Belt certified professional.
Syed Zaid Ali: Having attempted the Infosys life, being Beckham / Al Pacino, Syed Zaid Ali has joined IIM Kashipur for what he believes is his true calling, understanding how excellent operations and HR practices combined with Analytics can help an office become a home. A devout Muslim, his most prized possession is his Himalaya while his favorite activity is Jumme ki namaz. Do not judge him too harshly after noticing a self-proclaimed Manchester United fan fall asleep during last 10 minutes of a nail-biting game, or over his poor grades or simply because he, in sheer jubilation, kicked someone so hard that it caused a hairline fracture; spend some time with him to appreciate his role as a personal Urdu translator, as someone who dauntlessly answers the professors in their own voice or how shyly and humbly he would wrap a INR 500 note in a INR 20 note while handing it to a needy.
Firstly talking about the classroom experience in IIM reminds us about the intensive case studies the pre-readings for each course which comes as a package for each class. Every class has a unique characteristic and adds some new value to the knowledge of the student as an individual. The professor makes us feel as the protagonist of the case that is being discussed in the class and makes us take tough decisions most appropriate for the case. The uniqueness of most of the case based discussion is that the professor doesn’t give us any concrete solution to a particular problem but guides us in a direction that helps to make our own decision wisely. There were several interesting case studies which takes us to the different cultures, countries and time frames and makes us more aware about the business cirucmstances which involves decision making.

I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Jagannath University, Jaipur. I have worked as a Design Engineer in Aakash Hydraulics for 2 years. I did my summer internship at ABB India Limited, Bengaluru as a Corporate Strategy and Business Development Intern.
There is nothing quantitative on the clock for which one can say that this is when the day at IIM Rohtak begins. The regular morning transforms into night and the night turns into another morning, and this cycle continues. The concept of days stops existing here. But it is this rigorous schedule and the very energy and passion in the air that makes life such an adventurous ride at IIM Rohtak.
Right before joining IIM Rohtak every aspirant has few questions in mind. What would be the campus be like? Is Rohtak a safe city? Am I about to witness a rural Haryana culture? and many others. All these questions keep boggling a potential joiner.
