MBA is all about prioritization and time management though we have all read about a typical day in any b-school in various websites we were thrown off our game during the first instance of us experiencing the same since it was the first time I was thrown off my comfort zone in the b-school I would consider the induction week as my most memorable experience at MDI so far.
‘If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads’
I had sown the seeds of my dreams when I got admission at MDI, Gurgaon. It took time to sink in that I had really made it to my dream B-school, one of the premier colleges of India. The feeling of awe and wonder (which disappeared after school) made a way back in my life. I had come thinking my cup was full, only to realize that the cup that I was holding was too small.
The most beautiful thing about MDI is the diversity it have in terms of students coming from different educational backgrounds, cultures and having work experience in different sectors. This unique combination transfers into different perspectives and viewpoints of looking into the same problem. This ensures that we widen our limited thought process, accept others opinions and gets a holistic view of the concepts thought in classroom. The diverse peer group gives us an immense opportunity to learn from each other.
The best thing about MDI is the campus experience it offers. It would have been a completely different experience had we not been staying in the hostel. The MDI culture always keeps us on our toes. There are a lot of activities that are going on every time on the campus. Plus, there is a good amount of focus on sports. The seniors offer help whenever we approach them. The environment here is very conducive for learning. There is a lot of peer learning as there is no reservation at MDI. I feel motivated in the company of intelligent people who have come from different backgrounds. The faculty here is top notch.
Sculptures are an important medium of projecting the values that any institution believes in. Unlike other art forms, it waits for you, in its place, silent but at the same time speaking volumes, waiting for you to realize and understand the story it wants to tell. The MDI Gurgaon campus is filled with such statues, at strategic places, reminding you of the values that place expects from you and what values it imparts to you.
