Let me break down the answer in one of our professor's logical split of stages of consumer experience (ya MBA lingo!)
I was extremely nervous on my first day of college as I had taken late admission. I got a call from the class representative that we have a placecomm event and you should be here by 9:00 am. It was nearly impossible as I live an hour away and still had to get ready. He went over the bajaj formals rule such as white shirt, black pants, tie, and watch. I had to go down and buy a watch since mine wasn’t bajaj approved. I reached a bit late and the session had already started. I looked inside the classroom, there were many students talking amongst themselves. I went to the back, and started speaking to the students next to me on how JBIMS works. One after one they were guiding me on the dos and don’ts.

Stepping through the entrance of the legendary red-brick building was an incredible experience. The legacy of the place commanded reverence. The classrooms, the floors, everything immortalize the heritage that lies within the walls of this building. The eagerness and exhilaration to be a part of this institute was complemented with a speck of intimidation. Discipline and
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, widely and rightfully known as the CEO factory of India has been one of the most prestigious institutes in the country for a period of over 50 years. I would like to mention some of the factors that make JBIMS a great B-school.
You actually realize how much something meant to you only when you lose it or don’t have its constant presence in your life anymore. That’s exactly how Alma maters are. They give you so much during your time there that you only realize how much it was worth when you’ve left it.
It all began with a WhatsApp text from a person who was going to be my roommate for the next two years, after the declaration of results. We were all excited to begin this journey curious to know what has the destiny planned for all of us. After all the frantic activities of searching accommodations and completing the admission procedures, little did we know that this journey will be one of the most exciting two-year journey that we will undertake. JBIMS with all its legacy and grandeur was prodding us to carry on this legacy forward and live up to the expectations. After frenzied induction that we had, we all were about to relax that finally it is behind our backs, suddenly we were bombarded with the schedule of GLs and classes which went from morning 7 am to sometimes 11 pm in the night. But today when we look back, we all are glad to be part of this melting pot of different cultures. One of the unique qualities of JBIMS is that, it teaches each member of JBIMS community to manage things that are at one’s disposal rather crib about it. This single thing I think makes JBIMS what it is today. We may not have lush green campuses, high end infrastructure that other institutes may boast of but JBIMS has the spirit and will power to learn from the resources that are at our disposal without making a fuss about it. Sometimes it’sfrustrating to see the apathy of government towards the institute, when we see the non-functional and degrading infrastructure but our professors and alumni are the ones who inspires us to work hard and achieve the best with the available resources. This one year at JBIMS has ingrained in all of the quality of managing things the way it is. JBIMS community is so closely knitted that faculty comprises of alumni of 1970s and their students both comes to campus to groom students.
