The campus has Vihar lake on one side with Sanjay Gandhi National Park in the background and Powai Lake with Hiranandani Skyscrapers in its background makes the campus one of most calm places in the city that never sleeps. The beauty of the campus is enhanced by its very own pond, this is the most favourite hang-out place of every NITIEzen. The pond helps the campus in coming more closer to nature. The pond is one of the best places in the campus to sit and ponder over any topic disturbing your mind. One can find a variety of birds in the campus and near the pond, being welcomed by monkeys while visiting the academic block if the building is quite an experience to have. It is said that life at NITIE can sometimes become a safari and it does, while spending two years in NITIE one tends to see some of the unique species of birds.

IIM Shillong, the 7th Indian Institute of Management to be established by the HRD ministry has shown immense growth in the past 10 years and today it stands among the top B-schools in the country. This can be evidently seen with the number of achievements that IIM Shillong students have garnered over the years. Our students have time and again proved their worth in the most prestigious corporate competitions across the nation. We have been global winners at Yes Bank Transformation series for 2 consecutive years and national winners at Tata Steelathon, Aditya Birla Group Scholarship and HUL Premier league to name a few. Apart from these achievements, IIM Shillong is also known for regarding moral and ethics as their highest priority. Sustainability is one of our core values and many initiatives have been taken by our institute to incorporate sustainable development into various aspects of our management education. We also conduct an annual sustainability conference SUSCON, where eminent speakers from various backgrounds gather and share their thoughts and insights relating to sustainability. Inspired by his words, IIM Shillong took the initiative of a very special and noble program , "Nurturing Minds". Under this program, the IIM Shillong students take the initiative of teaching basic subjects like Mathematics to the underprivileged students of North East. This is also one of the reasons why our campus is immensely respected among the local communities. Our logo and mission, which is to generate and disseminate knowledge is not only limited to classroom and peer learning but it spreads much beyond that. Located in the green hills of Meghalaya, amidst the clouds, IIM Shillong offers much more than the scenic and breathtaking views. It offers an altogether different perspective towards society and environment from the point of view of North East India. This helps us to broaden our understanding of the people living in the North East - their way of thinking, their challenges and other needs. I believe as an MBA student one cannot ask for more than to observe and understand such a diverse crowd which in future will help us to cater better to their needs. At the end, I can only say that IIM Shillong is an experience that will enable you to be a more socially and environmentally responsible manager, leading our nation towards sustainable development.
