With the mission “To drive academic excellence using innovative teaching methods, promoting research and practice of sustainable leadership”, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur the thirteenth IIM started in the year of 2011. Since then IIM Kashipur has joined the elite league of IIMs under the mentorship of IIM Lucknow, one of the reputed IIM to have the most rigorous MBA curriculum in the nation.
IIM Udaipur organises very interesting induction sessions each year for the incoming batch of freshers in the first week of their arrival here i.e. the orientation week. These sessions are fun and interactive which prove to be an amazing way of learning while play. Through these sessions, the students unaware of the b-school environment get to know about it and also get to know each other well. As we have a 250+ size of incoming batch every year and growing year on year, these activities prove to be very effective in building interpersonal relationships.
Behavioural sciences have always been shrouded in a cloak of mist to any observer who is just trying to make inroads into the field. This idea more than just resonates with me because I was first introduced into this discipline through organizational behaviour courses in the first year of the MBA program, here in IIM Indore. The coursework of the organizational behaviour II course was particularly engaging as it involved learning through a variety of iconoclastic teaching methods. One such activity left a lasting impression on me.
The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is a new institute comparatively, when it comes to other premier B-school in our country and the institute is set up with the objective of providing quality management education towards the needs of the society.
To some extent, you know what happens in B-school, in classrooms, hostels and in general. And if you don’t bother yourself, which I think one should not, to investigate the nuances of daily events in here then you are in for a big surprise. One of many such surprises is Faulty. You get glimpses of their eccentric nature, depth of knowledge or witty sense of humour in the interviews but the actual story is waiting in those classrooms to get hold of you in one way or another.
It has been almost a week since I have joined IIM Kashipur and there is one thing that I can vouch is it the best campus amongst all the new IIMs and probably the second most beautiful campus after IIM Kozhikode.
IIM campus life is the most coveted part of the MBA journey for anyone. With the myriad monotonous assignments and exams, it also offers an exciting life packed with tours, events and fun moments one could only imagine in wildest of dreams. I will pen down some of those although everything cannot be written, I will try to put down everything that I can.
In today’s dynamic corporate environment, what creates the difference is uniqueness. The unique qualities of prospective business leaders get nurtured in the distinctive business school milieu.
