It was a busy afternoon in the office, I was toiling with the calls from my clients and suddenly a notification popped up with XIMB header. When I opened it up, it was the selection confirmation mail from XIMB. I was happy and called my Mom and informed her. She was also delighted to hear that.
Being in a national institute, you will definitely witness new personalities at every turn of the period spent there. Even after completing the first year in IIM Rohtak, I would not be surprised if I meet a new personality tomorrow. When I first came here, I was ready to make new friends, but the experience of syncing with the batchmates has been phenomenal.
I had an experience of 18 years of class participation before coming to B-school, right from LKG till my Under Graduation, after which I moved into a work-life culture where the targets matter more than my interests. I got busy with the day-to-day schedule; I never used to get an opportunity to skip my office work as it ruins my bread & Butter.
My campus is unique because of its culture. Here are few of the heads that I would like to talk about:
Clouds in the sky, chirping of birds and a board written IIM Rohtak, that was the first sight I saw when I entered this prestigious institution. With excitement and anxiety inside, I started my two years of beautiful experience. However, it was understood that a lot of rigor would be required to live up to the expectations of an IIM tag.
Barely a week into my new college life, we had our first Communications class. Already burdened with pre-college assignments, struggling with the atmosphere of a new place, fighting with homesickness, this communications class was an oasis in a desert.
There’s a clichéd line in the corporate world. If you are an aspirant with dreams of joining the cream of B-schools in the country, you have probably heard it too. It goes something like this, “What makes the IIMs stand out from the rest of 3000-odd B-Schools in India?”
Along with the various temples that Bhubaneswar is known for, it is also known for having one of the top B-schools of India-XIMB. Situated at the heart of Bhubaneswar city, the campus life of XIMB is one of the most sought-after things among many B-schools. After appearing CAT, XIMB was one of the top most colleges in my list of prospective colleges I wanted to join. Apart from that, the college’s Media and PR cell was very responsive and smoothened our onboarding process to the institute.
