From X-walks to crazy batchmates(-meets) there is so much uniqueness to this phenomenon called XIMB. Being an avid researcher, I collected as much information I could about b-schools as possible. But XIMB is an unparalleled venture in itself. The never-ending drama of a single day is so humongous and composite in itself that can contribute to the content of a week’s daily soap.

The Positive Vibe - XIMB

XIMB was never my first choice but due to a certain turn of events my perception completely changed and now I am here, on a hula hoop ride gaining experience and creating memories which would last with me for a lifetime. So it all started last year, After getting a miserable score in CAT 2017, I was disheartened and almost lost hope. It was then the XAT results were out and it took me away by surprise when I scored a good 97 percentile. I got calls from some of the top colleges of the country like, S.P. Jain, XLRI, IMT and XIMB. I couldn’t get through the first two and that is when XIMB came into the picture. What made me choose XIMB was their huge alumni network, immensely talented and intellectual faculty and a helpful as well as a passionate set of seniors. Seniors have been a huge driving force from day 1. Even before joining I remember contacting a few of the seniors randomly on Facebook and got a great response which helped me choose XIMB. I, even visited the campus one month prior to the date of joining and got a real positive vibe and honestly, I fell in love with the campus and the ambience here. It’s not even a month here but I already have a good rapport with all the seniors, I try to interact with everyone because of which I am already a known face among all. I can proudly call myself a part of this institution and it feels like a home away from home already. With so much to learn in every corner, each and every student here is always on the go and I sometimes wonder how I am going to cope with the fact that XIMB will not be a part of my daily routine two years from now.

XIMB - My Second Home

I decided to study in XIMB as it has a legacy of over 30yrs now with its alumni’s at leadership positions throughout the corporate world.  XIMB has grown into a big Bschool brand envied by many other Bschools. Being a fully residential program and with a decent batch size of 360 students, it provides ample opportunities for networking and engaging in many co curricular and group activities. The XIMB is also highly regarded for its Pedagogy and academic rigor. Me being a guy with about 4.5 yrs of work experience, I wanted to join a b-school which provides ample opportunities for experienced guys also. This is pretty evident from the profiles and domain of offers bagged by the passed XIMB students. There are enough opportunities for all the domains of management, be it Marketing, Consulting or Finance. XIMB has a lot of committees for students to engage in and explore their talents. The XIMB has a clean lush green campus with so many sports amenities.  It has already been more than 2 weeks for me inside the campus and with so much to do inside the campus, it has become my second home. We have so many events and competitions where everybody gets an opportunity to showcase their talents. Because of these regular events, our XIMB campus is always buzzing with energy. The XIMB   2018-2020 batch has such a huge diversity with students from various graduation backgrounds and coming from work experiences from various sectors.  Meeting and getting to know my batch mates has been such a great learning and enriching experience for me. I learn something new each day from my batchmates. With so much competition at the campus, it makes me always on heels to learn and achieve something in life. So far it has been an amazing experience at XIMB and hopes to make the most of my stay at XIMB.

The Journey Of My X-Life

It was just another day for me in my workplace when I got an email notification on my cell phone from the XUB admissions office. And there it was finally. I was selected for taking admission in XIMB. It was quite a long wait indeed from the day of writing the entrance examination to the GD/PI process and finally the results. Infact, it was one of my greatest achievements ever in my academic career. At first, I was a bit sceptical about it because I had to leave my job. But my motivation towards this achievement overpowered my doubts. And finally started my X-life. The main reason why I chose XIMB is because of the legacy that it has been carrying for the last 30 years. One of the top B-schools in India, XIMB has a rigorous curriculum with excellent faculties. The college gives you ample opportunities to hone your leadership and managerial skills. There are lots of B-school and corporate competitions that are open for students here. Numerous leadership talks, seminars, workshops etc are held on various domains. Each one of them is a unique learning opportunity. Extra-curricular activities are also given an equal importance here. It’s just my 18th day here in college and we have already had one sports and two cultural events organized here for the 1st year students. These events have been instrumental for me in getting along with many of my batchmates. Thanks to our seniors for these opportunities. XIMB also holds a strong alumni base which I feel is an added advantage for this college and also one of the reasons why I opted to come here. Life in XIMB is certainly not easy. It has turned me into a nocturnal creature in these few days. Time management is the foremost lesson I have learnt after coming here. Learning is not just confined to the classrooms here. You get to learn more beyond those four walls when you interact with people around who come from various walks of life. It’s a lifetime opportunity indeed.
