IIM Indore which we passionately call as Planet-I is one of the unique campuses that one will get to see in any field. With over 560 students in each batch of PGP combined with IPMers and other management courses, it is like a small town in itself. With such a huge batch what you get to interact with people coming from an array of background. Doctors, engineers, CA’s, people with an arts degree, people with start-ups and much more. Due to this one can learn a lot just by peer learning. Moreover, due to such a huge batch size, you can daily see in the early morning or late nights people running in the gym, putting hours in the basketball court, playing guitar etc in addition to the hectic academic and placement schedule you really get inspired. You get the thought that if someone who is your peer can manage so many things beautifully surely you can too. Apart from these one unique speciality about Planet-I is its nightlife. I can guarantee that when it comes to that area IIIM Indore has to be one of the best campuses in India without a doubt. We have a night mess which is open till 4 am in the morning and if one enters it around 2 am you will not believe that there will be so many people doing various activities at such a time. Friends enjoying among themselves, couples having a loving chat, toppers studying studiously while drinking a cup of coffee etc. That sight at 2am gives you a boost which is necessary for such a hectic schedule which is present here. Then comes the academic part. Needless to say IIM Indore has one of the best faculty with years of experience behind them. The best thing about the professors here is that they facilitate class participation which is very important because it helps to develop our communication as well as listening skills which are one of the most important traits an MBA professional should possess. Overall the experience that you will gain from two years of life at Planet-I will not only prepare you for the strenuous corporate life but will also give you memories that you will cherish for years to come.

A College Of Photographs, Youngsters And The Key To The Future - IIM Indore

This is likely a feature in other campuses, but I wouldn’t know – IIM Indore has been my only college, as I am a part of the 5 year Integrated Programme of Management (IPM) that you can attend right after school. There are pictures of alumni on the walls of some of our classrooms. These alumni are clearly much older than we are, although we’re undergoing the same programme. It’s so evident from the way they look that they were the typical MBA students of yesteryear – they have work experience, and they have decided that in order to climb up the corporate ladder, they need a trump card up their sleeves. So they proceeded to pursue education from an IIM and they have been immortalized on the walls, beaming, with gold medals help up proudly. Looking at these photographs, I realize the big shoes that we IPMers have to fill. We’re so new to college, to the corporate world, to even life! I look around the classroom to see the innocent faces of my friends, listening intently in class. Whether or not they’re going to be gold medallists is not something I can tell, but I can envision each one of them being the best at whatever they aim to do.

The Birth Of An Ageless Jingle

The Birth Of An Ageless Jingle

The legend goes like this that the original Lifebuoy soap was primarily used for household chores such as washing clothes or cleaning the floors. However, the brand took personal hygiene to the next level by introducing the toilet bar in 1933. This special bar soap was used primarily for hand and body washing. But how was this positioning of a soap being used for personal hygiene arrived at?

What Makes IIM I Unique? - Aayush Mathur

The most unique thing about my campus in my opinion are the people here. Armed with a plethora of unique experiences and knowledge, the learning experience is entirely peer driven. My batch consisted of engineers, economists, commerce graduates & Chartered Accountants, IPMers, and even doctors and dentists. The variety of experiences you gain is overwhelming at first. You join the campus with pre-conceived notions about every other domain. When you talk to seniors about MBA, the first thing you heard is networking. Everyone says that networking skills are most important for a successful career. And guess what, you got all those opportunities on the campus itself. You have undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and executive students in the same habitat learning and gaining new experiences every day. There is a course for the Indian Army and I remember once I got to interact with one of the soldiers. He told about his experiences and I learned many lessons that day. I guess all these experiences are very important for professional as well as in personal life. All these experiences have helped me in my holistic development as an individual.

I would like to share a memory from a course called Critical Theory and Organisational Applications. On that particular day, we were going to study the work of Fanon. Frantz Fanon is a theorist on race. He was born in French part of the Antilles (West Indies), a very influential figure in the fields of post-colonial studies and critical theory. In one of his most famous works, ‘Black Skin White Masks’, Fanon psychoanalyses the oppressed black man who is perceived to be a lesser creature in the White World they live in, and studies how they navigate the world through a pretend performance of ‘white-ness’. Particularly in discussing language, he talks about how the black person’s use of a colonizer’s language is seen by the colonizer as predatory, and not transformative, as kids they are taught to speak real French as opposed to Creole French. This phenomenon Fanon argues reflects a dependency that subordinates the black’s humanity. But today we’ll focus more on Fanon’s reflections on the ‘Imperfect Authentic and Questions of Race’.
