The fact that India is a secular country was reminded by the people of Udaipur, when they welcomed and treated me like their own sister. With a pleasant smile on their face, their tendency to render hand for help whenever in need made me feel brotherhood. I felt like I’m landed again on my hometown. Having come from down south, leaving home for the first time, as a fresher my first day at IIM Udaipur was an unforgettable memory. Warm welcome from the locals of Udaipur made me feel better. The fears which I had in my mind vanished. However, I was slightly worried about my colleges in college, whether I could be able to mingle with them normally.

Nothing is unique than cutting off a mountain and setting up an institution there. Whenever I go to academic block, literally every floor is a ground floor, the floor numbers are just for fun it seems. You can access the actual ground from any of the floors. It took me a while to get accustomed to the floor plan; each one looks the same. You’re moving to your classroom, and when you think you’ve arrived, you’ll realize that you’re on the wrong floor. A haha! moment for me at least.

When I got the offer letter from IIMU, I left a lucrative job which pays handsomely to join IIMU. After I joined many of my friends were still questioning my judgement whether it was right or not. The first week I came here, even I wasn’t sure if it was a right decision and still was not able to make up my mind whether to continue or leave. But, as classes started, my reasons for joining IIMU, i.e increase my domain skills in operations and finance, developing new managerial skills got reaffirmed. But somewhere in the back of my mind I still had this insecurity of ‘what if I don’t get enough pay as my old one, my friends will be moving forward in there while I will be left behind.’

The batch of PGP 2020 has many brilliant minds which are full of imagination and ideas. One of those brilliant minds is Amit Kumar. He belongs to section A. He is from Bihar. In my entire life, I have never seen anyone purer than him. He speaks from his heart and doesn't care about the fact" log kya sochenge."; this is what makes him unique in the entire batch. Another person I would like to mention is Mukul Agrawal from Punjab; he has always been a great entertainer in our batch, whenever we are around him we are laughing and enjoying. Then we have Shwet who inspires me a lot. The energy, enthusiasm, and madness she posses within herself are commendable. She is the person who always smiles and makes others laugh as well. Then we have Nikhil Jose from Kerala. He is a person with patience. He is one amongst those who live to help others. He is the person who keeps everyone else before himself; this is what makes him unique amongst us. Then we have Aliza who has always been a personification of willpower; she brings with her a lot of positive energy which keeps all of us motivated. We also have a great football player in our batch; his name is Nikhil Taneja. He is passionate about anything he does and completes it way before time; this is what makes him unique amongst us.

Myself being from a non-metro part of Tamil Nadu and with three years of experience in chemical Industry had always until I joined IIM-U had the opportunity to meet only limited varieties of people.
