IRIS - The Annual Management & Cultural Fest of IIM Indore

IRIS is the annual management and cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Management Indore and will be held on 13th, 14th and 15th November 2014. Initially spread over two different fests - Ahvan, the management fest and Mridang, the cultural fest, this year sees these two events come together to bring forth IRIS 2014, which promises to be bigger and better than ever before. The past year alone boasts of participation of close to 10,000 students from over 50 B-Schools across the country. IRIS 2014 will play host to a plethora of challenging management events in every domain to test a manager’s aptitude. The cultural events will add to the festivities and make for an exciting experience.

Interaction with Mr. Kavindra Mishra, CEO of Pepe Jeans India on retail sector - IIM Indore Mumbai

Mr. Kavindra Mishra, CEO of Pepe Jeans India, visited IIM Indore, Mumbai Campus to interact with PGP students on 29th September. Mr. Mishra pursued his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He started his career with Madhura Coats Limited and then worked for brands like Allen Solly, Tommy Hilfiger and United Colors of Benetton. He is also co-founder of Zovi.com, the first online apparel and lifestyle platform.  After having two year stint at Zovi.com as an entrepreneur, he is presently the CEO of Pepe Jeans India and has been instrumental in designing effective strategies and embedding them tactfully in the broad spectrum of global strategy.

The sweet melody of chirping birds floated in from a distant somewhere crashing through the fragile layer of my premature sleepiness. Unsettling from my position, I reluctantly came awake to the sound of my alarm clock mouthing scathing words of disgust. The snoozed alarm clock died, as my senses came to life with the sight of the numbers beeping on it - 08:20.Having overslept, I had missed class. Beside, lay my table tennis racquet, its rubber torn from an accidental strike against the table. Racquets had concluded, early morning today.

IIM Shillong bags prestigious Aditya Birla Scholarship for 4th consecutive year

Gaurav Jain, a first year PGDM student at IIM Shillong, has been awarded the Aditya Birla Scholarship. He is the fourth student of IIM Shillong to receive the prestigious scholarship following the footsteps of Nikesh Patra (2011), Vaibhav Annam (2012) and Apurva Jain (2013). This year, three students were shortlisted from IIM Shillong for the event – of which Gaurav Jain finally won the scholarship. Says an elated Gaurav, “I am extremely happy to have made my institute proud. It was a great opportunity for me and I am glad that I converted this opportunity to fruition. Interacting with the corporates and students from other IIMs and B-schools was a great learning experience.”
