One year and wow! That was precisely my reaction, after my last exam of Trimester 3. I still remember the picture of me bidding goodbye to my friends. Not a good sight, but there was a lot of excitement within. Excitement for the upcoming 2 months. I bid farewell to all my friends before we could all walk on the road of our dreams. That’s when it all flashed like a recap to me.
With hundreds of hopes and aspiration began our session here at SJMSOM last July. Placed inside IIT Bombay, I thought that SJMSOM could provide a rich blend of management and technological expertise. I had extensive work experience in data and analytics before joining. During our induction week, we were briefed about many aspects such as facilities, curriculum, clubs, and teams etc. Apart from the world-class sports facilities, the official systems and analytics club drew all my intention in the first week itself.
Vidya Viniyoga Vikas (Development through Application of Knowledge): this is what this great institute stands by, and this is exactly what each and every person in IIM Ahmedabad works towards.
My journey in SJMSOM has helped me prove to my self that it is possible to push every boundary I had set in my head. SOM has proved that every doubt you have in your head can be overcome. It is just a matter believing in yourself and ‘just do it’ attitude and always keeping in your mind that Deadlines are Sacrosanct.
Very often we come across stories reading 10 reasons to love XYZ, 15 reasons to love XYZ, but I'm taking the unconventional route. When I first thought of writing this article, I had 8 points that struck me, so here I am reiterating those 8 points through this article, as to why you should love NMIMS Mumbai.

If the phrase “spoilt for choice” could be personified, it would be personified into the number of committees that MICA has! Dance, music, theatre, quizzing, marketing (obviously!) and more, keep us occupied throughout the two years with more to add. Since MICA can be whatever you make of it, it is a place for your dreams to come true. This can be in terms of organising a formal play, pitching your startup ideas to a VC or painting some of the legendary graffiti that adorns our walls. As a part of the TEDxMICA committee, I am using this very canvas to paint my (marketing!) dreams into reality.
What a moment of pride would it be when someone hails you as an IIM alumnus? What a fabulous achievement it would, be when you have the badge of an IIM degree? How pleasant and wonderful parents would feel, when their child, without any business background, gets out of an elite management school of the country with successful completion of management education?
