6 years ago, on 18th April 2014, I was forced to watch this movie '2 States' which happened to just change my life journey. Before that, I did not know about IIM Ahmedabad. I went back home after the movie, did research about the courses and the eligibility. Confirming that I really wish to do MBA for my Post Graduation, I chose 'Bachelors of Management Studies' for my undergraduate.
My CAT preparation journey started way back in 2016 when I joined coaching. At coaching, teachers would talk about strategies and although I would listen everything, I had no idea on how to actually implement them. As for LRDI, I was so scared of this section that it was my first reason to not take mocks. And the simple reason for this was I didn’t bother to practice enough because even when I would sit to practice, I would give up easily. But things improved in the next CAT attempt, so much so, that LRDI became my favourite and strongest section. Here’s my preparation journey from dreading LRDI completely to scoring 99.45% in this section!
VARC is a section which gives nightmares to many CAT aspirants. A low score can drive down your percentile. The sectional cut-off can also become problematic. It can however also be a section which can really push forward your score. The difficulty level of the section changes every year and even with every slot.
Meet Jhalak Mittal, a Delhi University student, majoring in Economics. Jhalak decided to pursue an MBA straight after graduation, as a fresher, after consulting seniors and MBA students. She wanted to back her economics know how with the business acumen that an #MBA degree provides. Jhalak started preparing for CAT while still in college and managed to score 98.78 percentile, thus converting a call to IIM Bangalore. I decided to appear for CAT 2019 in May end just before my two-month technical internship was about to begin. I skimmed through the syllabus and past year papers and realized that classroom coaching may not be fruitful much in my preparation and secondly managing it along with internship would be quite tough. I enrolled for AIMCAT in early June and just gave 4-5 mocks during my internship tenure.

VA-RC section was like a nightmare for me. While attending the first few classes during the first attempt, I thought it was easy and I can do it. With this thought, I left studying for VA-RC altogether. When the results for CAT 2017 were out, I was not at all satisfied with my performance. It was disheartening.
