This is a tough’ un. Not for lack of topics to cover regarding this , but rather the wealth of it . When I first read the news that I was to get into Symbiosis, my feelings were encapsulated in a cliched statement : “ No words to describe the joy that I felt”.
For most of us doing an MBA, the course will most probably lead to the last “Degree’ in our life. SIBM Pune being a premier B-School, it was always going to fit in directly in my ‘Dream Colleges’ list. All seemed well, SNAP being cleared, finally got a call for the interview round and it was during this 2-day stay for the interviews that I fell in love with the campus at the first sight. SIBM PUNE…. all in big bold letters being imprinted, it gave such a joy just thinking about it….’wowed. This is something UNIQUE’. A beautiful B-School campus located on the hilltop, with all the credentials that SIBM Pune already has, it was a no-brainer why it would not have motivated me to go a few extra miles, give my best and convert the call at any cost. I was determined, for all I had heard till now was how hectic a B-School life was going to be and here I stood thinking how this campus was going to make my life smoother and enriching. There is something with nature that we don’t really get it but get deeply affected by it in a positive way of course, once we surround ourselves with it. Having finally secured admission in this prestigious college and getting to learn the intricacies of management subjects from the highly qualified teachers in the lap of mother nature, I got to realise that it was just a beginning and there was much more ‘uniqueness’ to the college than just the holistic and serene environment that we saw ourselves in.
Symbiosis as the name suggests is a place for symbiotic relationships between cultures to thrive. Our founder, Dr.S.B Mujumdar had, very early in his life, thought of creating a place where students from diverse cultures and creeds could come and gain knowledge in any field they wanted to excel in. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management is a place where a student comes for an all-round development and these two years of his life change his personality completely only for good. We all know SIBM follows a student driven culture which means that the Student Councils here play a major part in the management and execution of all the major events that happen. We have our own Aspirant Relations Team which cater to all the queries of all the aspirants all over India and ensure that the aspirants stay motivated to join SIBM. The Corporate Interface Team gives the students a chance to interact with the corporates and organise their events with full swing. They get a hands on experience before joining the corporates and thus gives them an added advantage to step into the corporate culture full prepared.
Smart, creative, excellent communication and leadership abilities are one of the few things that you may expect from an MBA student. Well, I’m proud to say that we have all these qualities and much more. We are a crazy bunch here. SIBM Pune has done a great job at picking out the best from a number of different fields and backgrounds. I didn’t expect to be learning the concepts of management sitting along with a Chartered Accountant and an Embryologist. Having said that let’s move on to introducing some of my esteemed crazy batch mates.
Located amidst the hills and sprawling flora of Lavale Village, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune is a perfect case in point of how modern technology can co-exist with nature. Students may wake up to the tune of ‘Vande Matram’ that plays on speakers in dormitories of each floor of the hostels everyday or may rise to the sound of a peacock that celebrates the beautiful gift of a new day.
Located at the hilltops of Lavale, Pune, my campus- Symbiosis Institute of Business Management is unique in some of the salient manners. Firstly, the lovely weather that we enjoy throughout. The sun rays which make its way through the dense clouds that seem to float just a distance away. The drizzle rains that prevails almost daily making the climate slightly chilled. The weather during the night time, where cold breeze winds pass through you and leave you with a confusion about which season is actually prevailing.
With aspiration and dreams in our eyes, when we travel along the hills, atop sits the beautiful and refreshing campus of SIBM Pune. The first thing you notice is the breath-taking view around the campus but more beautiful are the people whom you meet and who are some of the finest brains in the country. All this creates an enriching and rejuvenating atmosphere which blossoms the students’ aspirations into success and achievements.
Symbiosis-The name gives it away. That is what makes my campus unique. In general terms it is the interaction or co existence between two living organisms where each provides for the sustenance of the other. In broader perspective it attests the harmony and balance in nature by mutual cooperation and assistance to survive and flourish. This is what can be observed throughout my campus.
