One word which can describe the whole campus, ‘Hilltop’. The day begins with the peacock scream but no one can see them where they are hiding. The campus is gifted with natural beauty all around. The beautiful sculpture of Goddess Saraswati in front declared to the world that this institution believes in bestowing knowledge to the ones who truly seek.
That is the first line a fresher engineer like me heard from an amazing teacher Mrs Manasi Phadke. A typical Punekar woman,as she says she is with a lot of sarcasm. As an engineer and an aspiring management student, I was very much afraid of any subject involving commerce or economics but that was completely changed in my first two hours of classroom experience of Microeconomics. So basically in any B.school faculty uses a lot of computer to show ppts and videos but she is different everything just flows so lucid from her and with an extreme passion for what she does. She rarely takes the help of any ppts or videos; its just all sheer experience that she has.
14 June 2018: My first experience in a B-school classroom
SIBM Pune has a different style of pedagogy from other B-Schools. While as a finance student, one’s mind is attuned to think on the lines of an organization’s cash, teachers at SIBM Pune further supplement the thought process by means of enhancing “KASH”- Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Habits which is why Case Study approach is used here to develop the same.
SIBM Pune is 15 km far from the city, this is what makes my campus unique. The scenic beauty, cool climate and my friends here. When I first arrived to the Pune to do my MBA at SIBM, I was very nervous, as anyone would be.
Beep Beep. With a reflex, I reach for my mobile phone. I can see “7:00 am” blinking on the screen.
And the 20 feet long white-board is full of data again!
