My ABG Story-IIM Rohtak Why Aditya Birla Group Is Big In Your Life? It was during the time of October. Winter was approaching. One day my brother came home with a beautiful ocean green coloured polythene bag having beautiful petals printed on it. I was curious to know what is inside it. I quickly grabbed the bag from him and pulled the stuff out of it. It was an amazing high neck, off-white coloured sweater. I liked it very much but was curious why did he get it so randomly. That was the first time when I was stubborn about wanting the exactly same thing that by brother had bought. I wanted exactly similar sweater. We planned to visit pantaloons the very next Sunday to hunt for it. I haven’t got the exact sweater though, but was able to find the similar one, white high neck sweater in women’s collection. This was the point in my life when I had started gaining a sense of fashion. I started to explore the clothes in pantaloons more after this very incidence.Further when I grew up and was appearing for my MBA CAP interview rounds, formals was the most sought after thing that any MBA person would think of. It was required to appear professional and confident in front of interviewers. What else I could have thought of other than “Van Heusen”. They offer cloths for the young fashion-forward professional who is out to dress for success. During these incidences of life, I have never thought that ABG products have impacted my life so deeply. But I must say that the experience has lasting impressions on me that I cannot forget the joy I felt by using these products. How Have You Made An Impact? I have started my career in Accenture. In the beginning, I was hesitant in putting my concerns to my manager and relied on colleagues to move forward and talk about the issue. This made me look initially inert and less expressive which had even hampered my performance in my 1st project. This had given me the lesson that in IT you cannot be inert and your performance is not only judged by your work quality and timely completion of work, but how you perform socially is equally important. Here is one situation where I was not hesitant and took up the charge to prove myself:Situation : I was designated the lead role in Vodafone UK in Billing and Revenue Management team after one of our senior team members had taken roll-off from the project. Taking a lead role in BRM was not a matter of concern as I had my colleges my and team lead to support and help me through any issues. One of the important parts of the project that my ex senior was handling while being there in the project was “PALLETS – Pay as you go Sims” of Vodafone UK. Taking up this new opportunity that had a lot of scope and importance was a big step for me.Task : I was given a KT for this and I was the sole responsible person for PALLETS right from handling issues , attending client calls, providing updates and being direct contact with the clients in case of any issues and concern. When I have taken charge for this, PALLETS was already going through a major issue which had been arised due to the lack of communication between the 2 teams. The pallet orders were wrongly completed in the stack and around 500K sims were of no use due to this issue. My role was to handle the issue by correcting the wrongly competed orders using a Siebel script and getting the sims ready to make them available for use.Action : There were 10 impacted pallets, each pallet of 50K orders. I had taken the initiative to target each pallet over a week and work on wrongly completed orders in batches. It was essential to run the scripts in batches to avoid load on Siebel server. I used to provide the clients with daily progress. Once one pallet is corrected I used to update the clients with the overall success rate and then this pallet was used by clients for issuing sims to customers. Moreover, I configured, triaged, and made system ready for more than million “Pay as you go Sims”.Result : This was a huge impact on Vodafone UK business as there was 500k sims demand lacking in market which I made ready in very short duration of time. I had received many appreciations from client side, onsite managers, my immediate manager and DU lead. Personally, my performance was a confidence booster that I can handle adverse situations and show results.
