ABG-The Idea That Changed India - TAPMI There is no place like home. As humans, the sentiments that we tie up with our homes is incomparable. There are so many memories good and bad, that we associate with that one word HOME. It is probably the only place we are happy to leave, but even happier to get back. As a child, I used to accompany my father frequently to Arani, a small village in Tamil Nadu. We had a house there that was almost 100 years old where my father had grown up.When I first saw the house, I was amazed. It had the ‘thinnai’- a small verandah at the entrance for people to rest and socialize, a huge courtyard in the middle of the house, huge columns supporting the roof and even a well in the backyard. My family had moved to the city and there was no one to maintain the house and with each passing year, the house was getting weathered out. We had to use quality cement to repair all the damage and our search ended with UltraTech Cements from Aditya Birla Group. Being the largest manufacturer of cement in India and strongly recognized in the international market we had no second thoughts! We remodeled that entire house with the best and now our century old sentimental home looks as good as new!I am an engineering graduate and I was working for an IT firm. The desire to be a management professional came in two years into the job when I realized my strengths and interests and hence, I decided to prepare for my entrance exams. My office was 50 km away from my home and I was losing almost fours of my day in just travelling to and from my office. I had to make use of those hours doing something productive and I am so grateful for the network connectivity that I got from Idea. The preparation I did on the train is a major reason that I am here in a reputed BSchool and I owe it to the strong connectivity that Idea provided. I guess it is safe to say, ‘An Idea can change your life’ is very true in my case.There are so many things in this world that we take for granted. We hardly ever stop, turn back and feel grateful for the role they play in our lives. The grand umbrella that is Aditya Birla is also one such thing. As i write this article, I realize that there are so many instances where we are directly or indirectly influenced by their products and they have become a way of life now. The name Aditya Birla is not just a brand. It is a way of life!#ABGLPWooMe

So, I feel getting to work under the world class leader will help me enrich my life. It would be a platform to showcase my talents, chase my dreams and to compete with myself for my aim is to improve and to be better than I was before since I am in competition with no one. I run my own race. I have no desire to play the game of being better than any other. I just aim to improve and to be better than I was before. Their vision- To be a premium global conglomerate with a clear focus on each of the businesses, and mission - To deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees and society at large. This approach of their makes them stand out from others. Aditya Birla Group have established their roots in almost all the industries from telecom business, textile business, financial services, hindalco industries and what not. Their growth has been tremendous and one of the reason that I believe for the same is how well they treat their employees and customers. Aditya Birla Group creates a very sound environment for the workers, which clearly reflected in their extraordinary. Its more like a family and every job aspirants dreams to be a part of this wonderful family.

Why is Aditya Birla Group big in my life? Well, why is it not? As a kid, I grew up watching the advertisements of Aditya Birla Group and now as a grown up girl, I am a loyal customer of Aditya Birla Group. From the most basic necessity of a house – The Ultratech Cement to the most popular clothing brands such as Pantaloons, Aditya Birla Group has done it all. The celebrated enterprise has proved and established its excellence in every single market sector possible.

Time is a difficult thing to cease. And when you are a part of a nuclear family with both parents working then it adds on to the difficulty. A typical day of my life would include my parents returning around 9:30 pm or after that, tired and wearied out after all day exertion and no energy left to talk. And the weekends would include my mother covering all the household chores which she missed on the weekdays and my father taking care of other aspects of the house. Because its on both of them to run maintain the daily dynamics for me to live. So, where do I fit in amongst all the hustle?  One can find me waiting eagerly every evening for my parents to return , pressing my ears hard against the door trying to hear the honking of their car and trying to tell them how my day went or on the weekdays urging them to sit and spend some time with me amidst their busy schedule while I was there sitting on the corner of the bed with a book. But Time was a difficult thing to cease.
