Aditya Birla Group: What is BIG? | Mrudula Surve #IIMTrichy

Mumbai, one of the major cities in the world and the financial capital of India. It is the home of many magnificent architectures and one such architecture marvel is the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, it was the Ultra-tech cement ‘The Engineer’s Choice’ that was used to make it stand strong. Be it making an architecture marvel or just making the dream of building your first house, come true. Aditya Birla Group has made it all possible, it’s presence is felt in massive buildings and in the microscopic Birla nano-carbon particles used in making the tyres of our vehicles safer, it is in the aluminium foils used to wrap up our chocolates, lunch boxes, the clothes we wear and even in the cover glasses of our phones. We have all benefited from the range of products provided by Aditya Birla Group.

The Girl and Her Ultratech Castle #IIMTrichy Part-1Stories are memory aids, instruction manuals and moral compasses. So, let me begin with a story. In a land far away, there lived a girl who was very inquisitive, and her father was very proud of her, for no reason at all. The two ,used to go on long walks whenever the father used to get some time from his busy office life, and her father always tried to inspire her to fly. The father had been saving money, for their new home, a castle for his princess. Finally, the construction of the castle began, and the inquisitive girl gazed at the construction site, with eyes shining bright. The girl’s question to the father ,” Pa, why only Ultratech?” and the father answered, “because the castle Has to be the strongest.”“Pa, why do you use only Vodafone?” “So that I’m within your reach any time you need me.”“Pa, why do you wear only Peter England and Raymond? There ARE other brands as well ” “Because your mother finds me handsome ONLY in these.”The girl loved wearing new clothes as well. So, the father used to take her to the nearby Pantaloons store once every couple of months, and she used to splurge. Now, the girl is all grown up, studying Business Administration in IIMTrichy and connecting the dots looking backwards, amazed at how life comes a full circle. All her life, she’s been living in her Ultratech Castle, wearing Pantaloons’ robes and communicating with all her loved ones through Vodafone, using products of such a big Indian conglomerate such as Aditya Birla Group , which has made life of a commoner so simple and comfortable, and here’s her chance to be a part of it, to fly like her father always inspired her to. Part-2“Some fish love to swim upstream”The two most important days in one’s life, the day you’re born and the day you find out why. The biggest challenge one can face is the ultimate of challenge of finding oneself. I have always been very inquisitive and I used to ask myself a lot of questions, as in why I’m doing what I’m doing and would it even give me a sense of fulfilment. Not more than three years ago, I joined the corporate sector of India and I started earning for the first time. I loved the sense of independence that it gave me. A fresh graduate from college, I was living a life full of freedom, only for myself. Little did I know that the freedom came with a price. I soon realized (with the help of some counselling, of course!) that there was supposed to be more to life than just earning big bucks. The more aware I got of the world around me, the more detached I got from the idea of earning big money and more attracted to the idea of gaining power. I realized that power in this country needs to be in the right hands which know how and where to wield it. My aim in life is to rise to a position of such power in the corporate sector, where I can make a positive and worthwhile change to my organization and to my world.

Why ABG is a huge part of my life #IIM TRICHY

Why ABG is a huge part of my life #IIM TRICHY

India is a country that always has a rich heritage and moral values. When we talk about the Aditya Birla group I feel that ABG is the true reflection of Indian Cultural and moral values. ABG has spread its tentacles in diverse sectors and their products are as diverse as Indian Subcontinent. Established in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla the group has stood by their values for more than 162 years.

Aditya Birla Group: The initiator of change - Neeladri Sekhar Kachari, IIM Trichy

Aditya Birla Group, a 162 year old multinational conglomerate, has made its way into every nook and corner of the country and impacted our lives in one way or another. From the humble beginnings of a jute manufacturing company to its current position where it has become industry leaders across a wide spectrum of sectors, the ABG group has done wonders. Personally, I have seen the change it has brought to our lives on all levels, either directly or indirectly. I come from Jorhat, a small but beautiful town tucked away in the northeastern part of the country. The ABG group has slowly but surely made its presence felt there. Earlier, Assam and the seven sister states of India had been a neglected and poor lot of states in terms of infrastructure, industries, opportunities etc. The ABG group has acted as an initiator in these avenues. From the bridges connecting the two valleys of Assam to the multitudes of industries that have come up, Ultratech cement and other ABG products have been used extensively. It has also made people come closer and connect to each other by improving connectivity through their mobile service provider, Idea. It has also brought the world to our doorstep through retail brands like Pantaloons, Van Heusen etc. In doing this, they not only expanded their network but also brought along numerous opportunities for the youth to a place that was primarily dependent on agriculture and allied sectors. This opened the door to a whole lot of avenues for the entire northeastern region, bringing along better transportation, infrastructure, education etc. The ABG group has surely been instrumental in contributing to this. Now, when I see my cousin going to school with her tiffin filled with a meal neatly wrapped in a foil from the ABG group, I take great pride in reflecting the welcome change that the group has brought about to the region and lives of the people.
