To start with, I have never had any big ambitions in my life. Fortunately or unfortunately, my well-wishers always helped me to understand my scope & limitations that formed an integral part in defining goals and ambitions for my life or career ahead. These not so big ambitions and goals were/are always complemented with the kind and quality of support that I received from the most important people in my life. Throughout the achievement journey of each of the ambition, I have had instances in which I was compared with Mr X or Ms Y by the externalities. During some of those instances, I used to welcome a lot of stress onto my head by thinking of the impact that the failure to fulfil those comparisons can have on the mental well-being of my well-wishers. But, all throughout my journeys, I was proven wrong with the level of maturity and the association each of my people had with me. All this is extrinsic in nature. I do possess some intrinsic factors that had led me to state in which, I am currently in. Few of those factors are my determination, never ever give up attitude, the hardworking nature, susceptibility of taking sufficient rest, ability to stay awake for longer hours, quality of never missing my people in a day through some or the other communication medium, dare to self-criticise, keeping myself grounded, always having my father as a role model at the back of my mind. These factors coupled with many others are the ones that helped me overcome challenges and be in the state that I am in.
While planning to write the article, I was thinking about whether there would be justice and genuineness about this piece of article. The realization that a company like ABGLP is to be talked about gives you a sense of satisfaction and adds a smile to the face of the writer inside you as he thinks that he can write as much as he wants to. The particular group has it's reach in every aspect of life that one could even imagine that is from your first home to the first business casuals you wore would have an association with ABGLP.
Even before properly introduced to the group, I associate myself with Aditya Birla Group in a big way. All thanks to the educational giant, Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani. BITS, as an institution had always been my dream institution during the preparation period of my entrance examinations for an admission in one of the esteemed engineering colleges to pursue Bachelors of Technology as my Under Graduation studies. I used to see myself in my dreams, as a candidate who’s sitting in the institution’s online counselling program for choosing the specialization of my interest. Unfortunately, I didn’t end up securing an admission from the institution. During the initial couple of years in engineering, I used to have a regret of not scoring the admission. Later, when I started to prepare for MBA and gave my first attempt at the Common Aptitude Test (CAT), I secured a very low percentile that made me ineligible for the next stages of the admission process in the Department of Management Studies, BITS Pilani. In the next year, when I again gave the exam, I secured a percentile that made me perfectly eligible for the next stages of the process to secure an admission. Cracking the entrance of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and getting an Interview call diverted my ambitions to NMIMS. Had I not got this call, I would have attended the process, probably would have cleared the process and I would have been in the second year of my Masters in the Department of Management Studies, BITS. Even now, I cherish the thoughts of pursuing my masters in BITS Pilani and having a very memorable journey of two years.
