Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life ? - MDI,Gurgaon

Around May time in 2012, here was a boy, naive, innocent, dependent who entered the gates of BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus knowing very little how the next 4 years would completely transform him. And transform him for good. BITS Pilani (a not for profit institution) is a de-facto ABG group institution.

My internship at Brillio

My internship at Brillio

It was 8th September 2019 when we got a mail from placement committee telling us that Brillio was coming for Summer internship placements. I was excited at the same time scared as this was the second company that was visiting the campus. I opted into the placement process and was surprised to see 40 other batchmates applying for the same job role which had a requirement of just one. There was a GD and two rounds of PI. To the end of the last round just 6 of us were remaining and I was confident that I had performed my best in all rounds. To my god luck, I got through. Hence began my journey at Brillio.

Internship being a very significant part of an MBA student's life,I was also very concerned about getting a good experience during my internship period.I was thinking until the very last minute about my decision of joining UrbanClap ,thoughts like "Will it give me the right opportunity to explore ?","What if I regret working at a startup?" won't leave my head. But I must say joining UC has given me a right kind of experience-nor out of the world neither  its the worst kind .It was the right mixture, giving me the freedom to experiment and learn from my own mistakes. It not only increases my confidence, but also helped me grow my knowledge base.I was working as a research intern in Mens Grooming Category. I really liked my work there but I hated the long hours which are the results of  UC following the same old methods. But my mentor was cool and understand my issues with the way work was being done,She listened to my problems and the solutions I have come up with and let me apply those and see the results myself. I have my lows too when something I changed, resulted in even more work for me but in end I had come up with some great ideas reducing my work  and increasing results at the same time whether its by using whats-app for marketing or digging deeper into datasheets-" a win -win situation both for UC and Me".I loved the work culture of UC ,my favorite being the tea breaks with my colleagues and Fridays after parties.I liked the thing that there were no separate cabins for higher level employees, everyone worked together and it was easy to approach people and make friends.I have friends now working in different roles  whether its on-boarding professionals on UC platform, churn, fitness and yoga etc.The biggest skill I learnt was the art of handling people, and focusing on getting your work done.I had to be patient all the time whether taking to angry customers, troubled professionals.

When things are on autopilot and-or in abundance, we lose the value and impact those objects have in our day-to-day lives. Before I sat down and started writing I never realized the impact Aditya Birla Group (ABG) has on my life. Because of the Ultratech Cement Plant in Shambhupura, Rajasthan, a city in itself was created - “Adityapuram” and I owe the best part of my higher education there in The Aditya Birla Public School, Adityapuram.
