My Internship Journey at TI India Ltd.

My Internship Journey at TI India Ltd.

Human Resources has always fascinated me, so much to the extent that I decided to let go of a career that I was settling down to. I had been a software engineer for over three years and though it was not something that fascinated me, I was slowly and steadily approaching a position in my life where I started to feel satisfied with it. Though with all this, there was still one question that remained unanswered “Will I be content to do this work even after 15-20 years”. I never wanted to be in a position in my life where I am left with nothing else but to just live the rest of my life with discontent and the feeling of not having tried something to change for the better.

It is not what opportunities you have but what you do with those opportunities that define you. To begin my internship story with these lines is apt for me, because through my company Godfrey Phillips India I was given a ton of opportunities to explore, hone and showcase my abilities at the highest level possible.

Learn as much as you can. This is what one needs to do in a B-School. MBA will not give you much if you concentrate only on your academics. It is an opportunity one chooses to grab for the development as a Whole. The one-year journey, ranging from multi-tasking to prioritizing what needs to be done in the first slab, exposure and networking, academic projects to organizing events has groomed me to become the person I am today. A person who is more focused, confident and independent while making decisions. There is another world you have to manage in an MBA and that is adapting to the new environment. Your whole batch is like you, having the same goals. Competing is what you learn over the course. Attending mock interviews, guest lectures held by industry experts, participating in case study competitions did help me to crack my final interview at Pay1. Further, if you are a fresher, you need to add some brownie points to your CV. I did that by getting selected for live projects provided by MC Donald’s and Doctalk. It gave me insights and a pre-reality check on how things work inside a organization.

My Internship at Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd.

Being a Fresher, coming from a non-engineering background, all my seniors and mentors used to say that due to the lack of corporate exposure I’ll have to settle for a field job in a company that might not be a big brand. And I knew all of that made sense, and I had to work extraordinarily hard to get a job in a corporate office or you could say in an office of my choice. With sheer hard work, and I’d say a tinge of good luck, not only did I get to work in one of the biggest brands in the consumer durables industry, Panasonic India, I ended up as a Trade Marketing Intern in their Regional Headquarters which overlooked the ISAMEA (India, South Asia, Middle East, Africa) region.
